Malaya wraps her arms around her brother, holding him tightly, her gift lying forgotten on the floor. "I don't know," she says to him, trying desperately not to make her voice shake. "I'm sorry I wasn't there. But it'll be okay. I promise." When Malaya finally pulls away, she reads a letter, which vanishes into flame in her hand, and pulls out of the box a suit of finely crafted chain mail. She looks over at Trelic, who has refused his gift, and says firmly, "The vampire has a name," before carefully opening the gift intended for Trelic, revealing a suit of armor to the group. The ancient mithril plate armor shines in the light for the first time
in over 400 years. The Lightpoint spear pulls Trelic towards the open
box. Once the armor is in direct view of the spear the hidden sigil
appears once again on the armor--the true coat of arms of house
Lightpoint. Trelic has heard stories, but not since Trelic the second
had seen the freshly minted armor of the dwarves on his Father's chest
has a Lightpoint heir seen this armor, a gift crafted with the spear to
honor his family line. The letter inside spoke aloud as soon as Malaya opened the crate. "Trelic,
I hope you are close enough to this gift when I assume Elly opens it.
I present to you a gift long lost to the ages that longs to be with its
family again. Wear it with pride and honor but always know deep inside
where it comes from and know that which is lost can always be found
once more." Malaya gives Trelic a pointed look before returning to her brother.
