Return to Bowman

So two teams. Team one stays aboard the Ares and studies the Ark and our Patient zero, while seeing to our stricken comrades. Team two goes back to the Scout base to secure whatever additional info we can find about the Ark as well as looking for a J-Drive and/or the parts and tools to repair ours.  I'm pretty sure that we'll still end up at the dig site eventually, but that will probably need require most of our personnel and a clearer picture of we'll be walking into. (Hopefully)
Sunday game is confirmed.  I may seem a lil rushed but the game is on for usual time Sunday night.
Aye C'ptain.  Is there any chance we can get eyeballs into where we're going this time? Have some kind of game plan? I mean, things wen't pretty well last time but ... just feel better to not be feeling around in the dark.
Updated the Bowman Notes Outline to the 5/8/2016 game.  If there is anything I left out, remind me at Wednesday night meta-session please.
All attempts to research the new Jump Drive will result in advertisements for “ Zhu-Zhu Pets ”; got it. Metal is atomic matter; please specify something consistent with Charoux’s results; “metal-ish” would be sufficiently vague. ^_^; You neglected the part where the old man fell down and couldn’t get up, and desperately needs medical attention; that’s pretty important. Between the old man and Charoux being stuck there for a while, how old are the Darrian parts of this building? One of my databases should help with that. Is it reasonable to expect that the Darrian locals were still starfaring at the time? If so, that puts “throwing it into the sun” out of the range of options, since if that would have worked, they probably would have already done that, instead of leaving such a dangerous thing lying around. This wasn’t found in a science lab, where it was being preserved for study; it was found in a temple; in the style of a Christian Catacomb or a Japanese Shrine, built to ward off the evil of some mysterious whatsit; if they thought they could destroy it, they probably would have. Between Charoux and the old man, the consequences of this thing being empowered by a solar fusion reaction would quite likely result in a worst-case scenario with a Maghiz-sized lower bound; that’s a non-starter. It should be noted that Darrians have never had Meson weaponry... so that’s something that hasn’t been tried on this thing before ... not including the Ancients, of course. Or maybe I’m wrong... or maybe the Mongoose book is just inconsistent. I dunno. :P Alternately, anyone know any convenient Black Holes? Assuming for a moment that Psionic activity can be limited by gravity, even if it’s not destroyed, at least it and what it broadcasts won’t get out...
((OOC:  RL List of nearest black holes to earth ))
Someone develop a Hard Science Fiction game that draws from HabCat already!!! I mean hell , we’re already detecting Earth-like planets from the darkened spectrums they exhibit when they pass a star... having to imagine whether a star has a habitable planet around it is becoming obsolete ...
Was that a joke, or is Galen injured?
Adm. Galen did sustain minor jarring on the way down the Well of Rivers due to a lack of control of his Zero-G belt.  Charoux did not do so well in First Aid and so he's still down the Well, last I checked.
lol ... thinking of "bring out you're dead", Galen feels fine. He feel's happy.  He might go for a walk.
lol
05/23/2016:  Updated the OP outline up to the 5/22 game.

Just a reminder: Sebastien, with his assistant and his robot are still aboard Ares . Between them, they can take care of Comms and any Diplomacy/Brokering rolls that might come up, as well as Medical, Sensors and other social rolls. Sebastien will also be trying to keep in touch with every settlement and large vessel in the system, including RayEagle and her system craft, still trying to establish the Imperial Aristocracy (ie, Sebastien) and Artemis Group as the primary contact point and legal authority for the system's settlements. We're also still trying to do whatever we can to get RayEagle to take advantage of our findings to make sure that the only people they kill are actually Pullers. Additionally, Seb is trying to keep track of the various responses and events as a Sociologist/Anthropologist/Psychologist, and will try to coordinate with Hane on this front.  Sebastien is specifically trying to take point as both a political and social authority here, with whatever support he can get from Ares and her crew, to take a hard and unflinching look at the way the Imperium handles both Ancient and Psionic events of significance here. He considers it his duty to make sure we do this as well as possible, and to make sure that we learn what we can, as a government and a society. (I get that this probably means exactly nothing in game terms, but it's important to Sebastien.)
1. Don’t let this come across as a case of deliberate “Good Cop/Bad Cop” on the part of the Imperium; that would be bad. 2. Don’t use the LSP station for this while the Imperium engineers are around to snoop; contact them directly. 3. Go somewhere outside of snooping range, and have the various groups conduct a quick “best-effort census”, so we can distinguish legitimate threat extermination from indiscriminate mass-murder.
Updated the OP outline for the 5/29/2016 game.  The Ares  is almost ready to lift from Alpha moon and commute to Garrison Starport where Artemis Group  hopes to sell off its many remaining and unused Loots, captured assets from Bowman, and generally return to a modicum of civilization after the psionic nightmare of this past two weeks.
What the hell are those things? Get me the hell out of this system!!!

"Realax human. You're ... reasonably safe now. " *looks carefully into Izek's eyes* "You're probably not going to be become one of them by the look of you. Don't worry mate. If you do become one of them we c'n take care of you. You probably won't feel a thing.  Not sure about that Bob fella we picked up earlier though. How is he looking? I'm guessing we may need to "take care of him" at some point. "

The Captain of the Ares goes on ship-wide announcement, everywhere, (except Charoux' Electronics Suite which he can't penetrate). Listen up, apes, elves and pets.  Here up and out to Lunion 'tis Suit-and-Tie when on duty.  Carrying favorite gun, -err weapon-, if desired.   Ares  back online though still having cracks in egg.  No foolin' 'round.  No more B.S. to each other.  Keeping secrets s'okay, unless omit means hurting Artemis.   Get this one?  Want this one to step up?  Baring teeth now.  Ship Ops better be tip-top and no wishy-washy.  Turning into a Puller?  Report to Dr. SIMOne for some kewl-aid.  And no more cracks about pulling weight or airlock surfing new Ares betting sport.  New assignments in place for ship, cargo, vault, hidey-holes, public Artemis  and private Ares.   Get this one?  Make a fuckin' do, apes.  Wanna live forever, as Gentleman Colonel say?  Cracks on Astrogation, Engineering, Comms, Gunnery, Piloting, Sensors and cooking will put wise-ass in chair and show all how well 'tis done by wise-ass. Step into C&C without minimal VaccSuit and be everyone next meal.  Report to Engineering without kit, Suit-and-Tie; Crow pluck out eyeballs.  No B.S.   Artemis  wanting out of Bowman and under Impy arrest thanks to Gentleman Maddox Eskwire; message received.  Make a do.  Gonna thumb-claw noses at Duke of Lunion - show them Artemis  loyal to late Gentleman-Colonel Lloyd Robertson. Stay outta Armory until Prof. Isis, Gentleman Maddox, and Gentleman Charoux take remaining inventory.  No nosing about for new piece without sign-off.  Get this one?  It not fit in cargo - leave it.  No refits until Lunion.  Hull, Structure, refit and paint job once there. Gonna lift soon, taxi to Garrison.  Owing Ares , Garrison do Artemis  up right as can; then off to 100D.  No bitching, barking, whining and no fuckin' smoking on this one Bridge!   Note to passengers:  stay out of way - yes, Sister-Dame too.  Bite a tail if not like it.   Note to crew:  respect the passengers, fund your paycheck.  Play nice-er. Dr. Simone in charge of 'rock'.  No exceptions.  Not care if Noble, Equal, Unequal, ape, elf or pet.  Get this one?  First rule about 'rock'?  Not talk about 'rock'.  Finestkind.  Dr. Simone in charge of Medical Ops.  Make a do.  Wanting Medbay back up online ASAP.  Know where you not sleep, Doc. Artemis  outbound?  Lock 'n' load lead-heads.  Not pull punches anymore; not with Capt. Chromedome still out there, so make a do.  Full repairs and Astroburgers at Lunion before  tea 'n ' crumpets with Duke Lunion.  Sensor capture of traffic every parsec Starport, Gas Giant, 100D - no screw ups.  Closer to Lanth, closer to a hole in head.  Flyin' Yellow-fuckin' Alert until Gentleman Maddox Eskwire say Ares  off hook. Get this one? If not like Captain's orders, there airlock.  No back-yap.  Get this one?  Good.  All hands prepare for lift T minus 36 hours.  Not onboard then?  Join IISS.   Good riddance. Captain out.

*Kayleb scratches the back of his ear* I think I understood the important parts of that?
Charoux will be listening on the secure comms relay he maintains for that purpose with the usual password expiration and cycling, and will confirm, “You heard our Captain, and if you’re new here, and suffering from a lack of understanding, a translation can be made available by request or by pointy-clawed boot, whichever becomes necessary first. In the olden days on Terra, they used to say, ‘Aye Aye’ whenever a Captain issued an order; the first ‘Aye’ indicated you understood the order, and the second indicated your intention to obey. Please either confirm your understanding of said orders, or make your request for clarification, and then state your intent to obey, now.”. Charoux takes a note to have a discussion with Gev later about insufficient vagueness with regard to certain items carried onboard and certain mission-relevant details, remarking with the old Naval expression, “loose lips sink ships”. He’ll also mark down that all his orders were entirely justified, but that his attitude was a smidgeon over-the-top, by perhaps one or two ticks of a 10 dial knob, but that could easily have been explained by the continued ongoing stress; on the whole, it was exemplary of him to take his role of Captain seriously.

Senior Scout Gevaudan stomped Vargr-speed through the Ares.  Deducting 30 HEAP, 5d6 ignoring 5 target Armour damage, shotgun slug ammo from his old bandoleer; the white Vargr left them on the door crank of Izak's door along with a portable Medikit.  Then he goes an requests a new one from the Gentlemen. "Everyone fights.  Nobody quits............."
Pakkrat said: "Everyone fights.  Nobody quits............." *to Izek* Yeah ... at the next meeting I think I might propose an amendment to that ... "Most of us fight, the rest of us just kind of ... flap around a bit. And we only quit during rostered break periods."
Crow:  "Aye aye, Cap'n." Sebastien:  "Well, I wouldn't use the word, arrested.  You're under my protective custody per subpoena, pending your upcoming testimonies before the aforementioned authorities. I do hope that clears matters up."
Arrested? With regards to what?
NOT Arrested! Sheesh....
