D&D/PF movement.

A simple question about movement in a D&D/PF environment but that I think applies to any game. My players like the ruler that counts feet with the 3.5/pathfinder system (1,5/diagonal, round down). However, it's not very fast to: - Select ruler tool. - Paint arrow in the board. Decide where they'll move. - Select pointer (arrow) tool. - Move the token. Is there any way of painting the ruler on the board under a token while it's being dragged? Or, is there somewhere in the screen where we could see how many feet are we dragging a token?
Currently no.

HoneyBadger is correct, there is not currently a way (outside of maybe the API) for you to drag a token and have it measure the distance. However, you can speed up the selection of the tools. In your settings tab checkmark the "Use advanced keyboard shortcuts" box. Now, if you hit the letter "q" it will switch to the measurement tool. Hitting the letter "s" will return you to the select tool. Alternately, in the regular keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+S is the shortcut to the select tool. Keyboard Shortcuts: https://wiki.roll20.net/Keyboard_Shortcuts Advanced Keyboard Shortcuts: https://wiki.roll20.net/Advanced_Shortcuts Additionally, with the advanced keyboard shortcuts there are a pair of "tricks" you can perform (Note: Although I don't think anything will, please do not hold me responsible if it goes wrong on you. This may be something of a bug. ) Trick 1: 1) Grab your token as if you are going to move it. Do not let go of the mouse button. 2) Hit "q" 3) Release the mouse button and measure distance normally. Leave the mouse cursor at the end of your distance. 4) Hit "s". The token should jump to where your mouse cursor is, 5) Drop the token by clicking your mouse where you want it to land. Trick 2: 1) Hit "q" or select the measurement tool. 2) At the end of the measure hold the mouse button. 3) While continuing to hold the left mouse button hit "s" or Ctrl+S. The measurement should remain. 4) To clear the measurement hit "q" or select the measurement tool and then perform a new measurement. The previous measurement will vanish. Note: in my testing Trick 2 will remain on other people's screens for only a short time, about 5-10seconds. However, it remained on my screen for at least a couple minutes (I did not extend my testing period after that). - Gauss
