Howdy one and all, ladies and gentlemen, there are so many games out there and they all lend themselves to broad, epic, tales, full of noble heroes and great quests to take down the dark lord who is going to totally destroy the world for serious guys and they're fun, I'm not arguing that, I as much as anybody else sometimes love to play the grim, growly, loner type who just wants to destroy evil but if I may ask... what happened to all the spacefaring barbarians armed with sonic-guitar cannons? Recently I've been listening to Gloryhammer - Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards and it awakened something in me, it put me in mind of all those games which were around in the 70's when everything needed to be ripped directly from a heavy metal album cover. Where fantasy cliche and an adherence to legend came a distinct second to making everything as "metal" as possible. Now obviously I'm not just looking for one kind of thing, I'm just putting an idea out here to either get embraced or savaged viciously. I'm just in general looking for something which can satisfy an itch for an adventure/game where we can have a little fun and don't need to worry about constantly upholding the plain ol' straight hero-classic. Date, Time, Frequency & Style: I'm open most days although Monday and Sunday are somewhat more difficult for me, as for time, I'm ok with mostly anything but as it states in the title I'm in the GMT+0 timezone so just bear that in mind. Also, ideally, I'd like to make this a weekly session and I'd prefer a voice-only game. Genre & Setting: I'm open for pretty much anything in this regard, whether fantasy or sci-fi or some blend or modern or anything else, really I'll consider almost anything so long as I can have some fun. Theme & Tone: Despite the kind of less-serious tone I'm looking for, I would like a lot of roleplaying, I like staying in character as much as possible without it becoming stupid or obnoxious and I am not looking for, "Suddenly an anvil drops on you because comedy! LOL!", I actually want to play a game, experience a story, I'd just like to escape the usual cycle of standard adventurers questing through dungeons without any kind of self-awareness. Note: In case I haven't made it clear, I am not interested in games where there is nothing but a constant stream of random non-sequiturs or with players or indeed a GM who aren't interested in playing a game so much as just sitting around and going, "Character X throws the innkeeper into crate full of manure because reasons." I'd like to cite Discworld as a world filled with humour and subversions of fantasy and even it's own non-sequiturs but the world is not just a series of random characters doing random things. I have no issue with occasional randomness or trying to add comedy to games but I just wanted to be clear that I'm not looking for just a series of random events and players who are only keen on causing chaos and furthering themselves to the exclusion of all others. As I said, I want roleplaying and people to roleplay with! Well I've rambled on for far too long and probably ensured that none of this makes any kind of sense but I hope that something in my mad gibberings made it through and if you have any questions feel free to throw them my way!
