I also found out by happy accident that when casting Roll20 from my desktop computer to the tv via a chromecast, it also plays jukebox sounds and music through the tv. ^_^ Sadly I cannot cast more than one tab at a time, but if I'm doing any threater of the mind stuff, i can use something like tabletopaudio.com/age_of_sail_sp.html and just switch back to Roll20 as needed.
Looks amazing! Share an update after you play, I saw your post on the top of the D&D subreddit too! Nice job SkyCaptainXIII .
Following this topic!
Game starts in just over twenty four hours. Will definitely post pics of the game in progress provided the players are amenable to such exposure.

They could always wear bags over their heads... would give it a nice cultish feel too! Good luck with the game... in case you don't use them I recommend power cards ;)

Our group uses two laptops(DM and Players) at the gaming table to supplement our live play. This setup works OK, but using a Chromecast + my 75" TV... very interesting. ;-P
That looks very good!
Looking great!
Thanks all. Cleaning house now and then setting up the gametable to prep the first encounter. :)
All set up for the first session! https://imgur.com/a/fneKC

First session went great. New player is already hooked. We have a Taaru Village Wisdom (halfling druid, blend of outlander/sage), a Hume Imperial Spy (human rogue, criminal/spy variant), and an Elvaan-blooded Hunter (half-elf ranger, outlander). They woke up, shipwrecked on a beach with no knowledge of how they got there. While combing the wreckage washing up on the beach, they would sometimes find trinkets or items that triggered memories which were played out by the players as flashbacks. These flashbacks were used to help connect the characters to each other. As a storm rolled in on the horizon, the water near the beach began to boil and many dozens of fish floated belly up. A massive flame-touched giant crab surfaced and bum rushed the druid who was searching along the beach as the rogue and ranger were putting together a simple shelter using some sailcloth they have recovered. It was a close fight, the thick shell of the megalocrab staving off many deadly attacks. The party celebrated their victory with a delicious feast of boiled crab meat. After recovering from the exertion of combat and tending to their wounds, they hunkered down in their shelter as storm driven rain and wind made it near impossible to see. Despite these conditions, some jungle goblins, drawn by the scent of the cooked crab, found the party and attempted to take them captive, but were driven off when over half their numbers were laid low by the weary adventurers. The tv gametable was a huge hit with the new player and the returning player (hasn't played in over ten years). The only real problem was when my router/wifi inexplicably died and took down the chromecast with it. Fortunately a quick reset fixed the problem and it was while we were still working on character creation and not in the middle of battle. I also discovered I need to use some kind of tokens for moving npc's around on the map as it's easier to move them in Roll20 first ( and I can do hidden movement on the GM Layer ) instead of trying to just use miniatures on the map. I was trying to use the arrow pointer in Roll20 to point things out to the players and the lack of monster tokens made it difficult at times. Can't wait for the next game!

I suggest adding Reboot the Router to your pre-game checklist. ;-) I have to run my games on wired Ethernet because the Wi-Fi interference in my apartment is severe and dropouts are a pain.
If your laptop is compatible with Intel WiDi, you might want to check out the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter as an option. Instead of using your apt. wireless network it makes its own direct connection and acts like a full second display with audio instead of just your browser window. I use them at my office all the time for conference rooms; they're pretty solid unless your computer goes to sleep.

But how could they cook it! =D I sometimes connect to my tv with an hdmi cable and put a maximized Chrome Incognito window on it with the sound, then turn the master slider down on my main browser. No wifi problem! =D
It self-cooked... the crab was flame-touched (a thing in the campaign setting involving the plane of fire) and basically boiled the water around itself when it was dredged up from the depths. I'm using a chromebook. It doesn't have fancy hdmi ports and such. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a real laptop. It was just cheaper to get the chromebook.

That looks amazingly fun! I love the 2D/3D combo, it looks both entertaining and visually appealing.

Next session they'll end up going into the jungle. Will probably look a lot better with a darker background compared to the bright water and beach. I wish I had remembered to take a picture when they camped for the night. The players loved the dynamic lighting mixed in with the real world props.
