3.5e Cityscape Campaign, City of Troubles, Weekly on Saturday

Starting a campaign, we already have a GM (who will be posting in this topic and answering questions) and we are looking for 2 players available on saturdays. We have not decided on a time yet, but will probably be GMT.

Hey guys, I will be the GM of this game and I'm here to tell you a little more about it =) The base game will be a 3.5e Cityscape campaign created by me. The primary focus will be investigation and politics. There will be combat - plenty of it - , but I highly suggest bringing your detective gear and thinking caps. Perhaps also that Complete Idiot's Guide to Thinking like Sherlock Holmes gathering dust in your basement somewhere >;) Why do I say "base" game? Well, I have homebrewed some things and will probably introduce more homebrewing later on in the campaign. As I am not the most knowledgeable on 3.5e mechanics at the moment, I have restricted myself to some basic changes. To name a few; the value of platinum will be somewhat different, critical misses will do something different, dual wielding will be buffed once I run some more simulations, etc. I hope to make up for this (intitial) lack of mechanical knowledge with what I hope to be decent storycrafting. I humbly ask for your patience in this regard. I would prefer the group to be a small tightknit unit. Four players would be ideal, I think. The campaign is sort of designed around the idea of the group leaning strongly toward doing Good.  I am being somewhat restrictive on the classes I'm allowing, but I think I make up for that with the amount of racial choices I'm making available. The rule of thumb on the classes is: if it has a psionic or evil spin in it, it's out. I cannot stress enough how much I recommend this group to have a Cleric. Barring that, a Paladin at least. Notice how I did not include Druid in this recommendation (It is not because Druid is disallowed. Well, standard Druid is. You can play the Urban Druid variant if you want. Nor am I discounting the healing capabilities of the Druid - nothing of the sort. Why I've left it out is left as a mental excercise and if you happen to figure it out, you may have gleamed some knowledge that will help you later in the campaign =) ). Barring something messing with my schedule again, I hope to have the first session next Saturday. It might be a shorter session, because of recent events eating away at my time. Even then, we should probably budget the first thirty minutes to an hour to be me rambling on in a pre-campaign briefing. Ideally, all of you need to coordinate well ahead of time with me in regards to creating your characters. I would love to run some simulations before the session starts. I think I've covered most of the important stuff. If not, expect edits. Afro will be coordinating the recruitment effort, but if there is any questions he can't answer feel free to PM me - be forwarned though; I may take a while to respond. Looking forward to adventuring with you!
