Looking for a couple of players. 5th edition.

I am looking for a couple of players to play the starter set. I have all your macros already built and will maintain your character. I have macros set up for most every aspect of the game and several house rules.
What kind of game? What day? What time?
We are using the 5th edition rules. I am running the 5th edition starter set. I will maintain your character and macros. Everything is automated as fully as I know possible. After the starter set we will either continue in Forgotten Realms or start up my homebrew world again if I am finished with everything. I have a homebrew campaign I have run for 15 years. Because it is too difficult to meet up in person I am changing to online. Several of my players do not want to change to online, or have conflicts and do not have time, so I am looking for some new players. I am fairly decent at setting up the macros and using the API. I am also an artist so I draw many of my own maps and creatures. Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 930pm US Central time. Would you like to set up a time to join and try things out? I can let you join the campaign. I have a little tutorial set up to figure out how to use the macros I set up to automate everything.

I would be interested. Currently only have one game going on Wednesdays. I will say though, I recommend you interview every player over Skype or other communication program. I recommend a discord server if you do not care about video. It is hard to find a solid group online, I have tried to dm and join games with sparse luck in the past. I am saying this since you are new to online play, you may already know this stuff in which case I am just interested in playing :D Also, I may have some other players that might be interested in joining as well. (people from my wednesday game, we have been playing dnd over several campaigns over the last 2 years)
I am new to finding people to play online. I have almost 1,600 hours on Roll20 learning the macros, API, ect. Send me a message with your email and I will send you an invite. I would be happy to invite your other players as well.
I have everything automated so you should never have to open your character sheet. I want to have all the best macros for my game.
Unfortunately, Thursday is not a good day for me (I run a game on Thursday, myself). I am available on Monday or Tuesday. You mention "macros" and "automation". I do not understand this. The game I run on Thursday, we use Google Hangout for the game, and the character sheets are in Google Docs. What do you use macros for?
The Macros do pretty much everything. All you have to do is press the buttons, follow the instructions and compare whether you hit the Armor Class or not. The way I have it st up when you select your character 5 buttons pop up, Action, Checks, Info, Rest, and Roll. ROll is just a basic roller I designed. Action has all your actions in it, such as spells, interactions, and attacks. Checks has all of your checks. Info has all of your info and info on other tokens. Rest has long rest and short rest where your stuff is automatically recovered.
I did this so that players and I can focus on the story, not what our pluses and minuses are.

Heya Okieone, Could you detail your house rules please? Also, is the time firm or flexible 30min or so? Are you using Roll20 Character sheets? If so which one? Will your players be able to update the BIO page or character sheets themselves (misc notes, item updates, etc.) [EDIT] - I'll have to pass on this one. Thanks just the same and best of luck to you all :)
That's interesting.
I will post the house rules. I think the only thing I have new for this adventure is a Beauty Score and several scores for interractions with NPCs. The time is flexible. We are using the 5th edition OGL. You can change the sheet yourself. The only things that need to be changed with care are the repeating sections. I will set up new abilities unless you think you are more capable or want to do it yourself. I am trying to take advantage of all that ROll20 has to offer. Really however the player feels comfortable playing is fine with me, but I would like to use the macros because I think it might be fun to have equipment wear down and to track consumables. It will give a good reason to go to town besides buying magic items. This first adventure will be the Starter set. Then I plan to run some Horde of the Dragon Queen or transition into my homebrew world if I have it done in time. Eventually I plan to just run my own world, but it will be a few months before I get the main town finished. Some of the Macros for that are 3 or more pages long, For that campaign I have 6 more personality scores, 50 different personalities, and schedules for every member of town, along with over 20 playable races.
I am using most of the one click API that is for the 5th edition OGL sheet. I only have macros set up for the basic rules in the PHB, not for the optional rules in the DMG. We can use most of the optional rules, but will have to wing it. The macros are set up as chat whispers with buttons. I think it is easy to use and fast, but may take some getting used to. Most everything will be done on a map. It may take more time to change your spell lists than described in the PHB because I may have to change some macros. We could set up some alternate lists and I am sure I will find a good way to change spell lists once I address it. I have not used Skype or Google Hangouts to play yet. Also I am very open to advice. I want to make the game as good as it can possibly be.
Oh this sounds interesting and right up my alley but the time would be 1:30 am to 4:30 am for me, so no chance. Good luck though
Anyone interested, send me your email, then I will send you an invite this Tuesday.
One question, will you let me play a Drow, other than that. I'd be interested.
PM sent
I am interested. This would be my first online experience with this and I am relatively new to this type of gaming in general, but I am a quick learner. If you don't think I would hold the group back too much I would love to give it a go. I will send you my email just in case.
Richard C. said: One question, will you let me play a Drow, other than that. I'd be interested. Yes I do allow Drow Elves. There is a drow elf race in the PHB which would be fine to play.
I may run more than one game if there is enough people interested. I will send everyone interested invites on Tuesday and we will take it from there. I am available to play weekdays during the evenings and on Sunday. The current game is on Thursdays, but there is nothing holding us to that day. I have run a dungeon for 15 years so I plan for this to be ongoing. The starter set, Lost Mine of Phandelver, takes the characters from 1st to 5th level. After we will probably play some Horde of the Dragonqueen or just wander around the Swordcoast seeking adventure and prestige until I finish my homebrew world. My homebrew world is based in the city of Daynar, on the world of Olympus, where pies have taken over the world and monsters are people. I make many of my own maps, tokens, and I plan to sell my adventures eventually on the Roll20 market. I also have an adventure called Clan of the Cave Pie which is a massive go it alone dungeon that can support lots of players. It will be about a year before I will start that campaign back up, so there are lots of games in the pipeline.
I'm interested. I've been playing 5e for almost 18 months and d&d since 2e
do u allow the ua and if so i would like to playe 2 almost 2 years 5e xp and 1 year dm
mathew c. said: do u allow the ua and if so i would like to playe 2 almost 2 years 5e xp and 1 year dm For this quest we are adventuring in the Sword Coast region of the Forgotten Realms. This is the standard campaign setting for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. I do not think there is Unearthed Arcana for 5th Edition Mathew C. I have premade characters. We will use the premade characters, with some minor changes permitted, because it takes several hours to write the unique Macros for every character. Once I am certain that a player will play regularly we can discuss a new character. What part of the UA rules interests you? 5th edition is designed so that all classes and options are roughly equal. Generally speaking I will design new house rules slightly underpowered so as to try not to break the ruleset. Any new rules you wanted to incorporate would primarily be for roleplaying purposes. Also D&D is abstract, so we can say your spellcasting works one way for roleplaying purposes, and use magic as written for game dynamics.
Tomorrow I will respond to the many requests and questions about the quest to Phandalin. It looks like we may be able to play 2 games, one game of beginners and one game of more experienced players. There are 8-10 requests so far and I have a few players already. There will probably be some of those people who will decide not to play. If you are serious about playing, and willing to commit to a weekly game, then we could probably fit a couple more people if we run 2 games. The sessions will be between 2 1/2 - 3 hours depending on whether people need a long break to take care of family business or what not. The reason it has taken me a while to respond is because I have been canoeing down the Mississippi River over the weekend and I did not want to get people started when I was not there to respond.
Also I have made my own maps for most all of the side quests and expanded upon them so even if you have played Lost Mine of Phandelver before, there will be brand new parts.
I'm super interested! I've had the books for 5th since launch, but never the chance to play it. Count me in!

interested in playing i have never played D&D before and i have been looking high and low for a group to play with that will expect newbies i knw what race class and ame i want jsut dont knw how to set up a char sheet curtly working on learning
I will be sending out invites today, and starting to get things rolling tomorrow at Roll20con.
Here is the player link to a game. https://app.roll20.net/join/1448512/R7-flQ I will begin sending out invites now. I think you can just click on the link to join the game. From there I will divide people up into smaller groups. Send me your email so that I can write it down and invite you to later projects, such as the city of Daynar where I will have personalities, schedules, and every other aspect of the City of Nights, where the monsters party in a world taken over by pies, also, The Clan of the Cave Pie, where you enter the meatgrinder to meet your final end in a massive go it alone dungeon crawl to single handedly save three worlds and eat several pies. Both of these dungeons should support 20 or more players . . . I think. The dungeon I will first invite you to will be where I test out new characters and maybe between PCs. All of the PCs are set to be used by all players. If you go negative on the ammo for things the API does not work quite right, but you are welcome to test out the characters. Please do not change the character sheets. For this campaign I think we will play in small groups once a week for about 2 hours. I will use one campaign as a hub to put new character options. All the characters will have proper macros because I think it is easier. To use the macros, select the character, then select a macro on the upper right hand side of the screen. You can choose from Actions, Checks, Info, Rest, and Roll. I will change hit points. Again, send me your email so that I can invite you to later campaigns.
I will slowly be sending out invites and responding to emails, so if you do not get an invite right away, click on the link I provided, or I will send one shortly. Feel free to try out the characters, just remember to rest so that you don't run negative on spells and abilities otherwise they have to be manually changed back positive by opening up the character sheet.
