Free accounts can't post suggestions for a year?

So I was going to make a suggestion about the marketplace, but when I went to the suggestions part of the forums in the FAQ it made it sound like I won't be able to make the suggestion until my account is a year old or until I get a subscription. So if younger free accounts would like to make suggestions do we just put them in general on-topic or wait until we get a subscription or are a year old?

You just have to wait. It's to prevent the suggestions forum from filling up with tons of duplicate suggestions, not that it did much to stop it anyway.

It also prevents people from making new accounts just to post suggestions, since there's no limit to the number of accounts you can make. I've got 5 accounts I don't even remember the password to any more that I was using for testing some API scripts a while back. >.>
