Date: 11th Patchwall, 609 CY Attendance: Wulrakas, Jareth, Cat ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recap: At Rostanna's, the party discusses what to do next. They agree that it's in their best interest to discover more about what's happening in The Citadel, so to that end they head to the nearby Orcish Barracks for reconnaissance. Cat leads a handful of Orcs away from the entrance using an illusion, though their leader isn't fooled. A second try does lead him away from the door, however, granting Cat access to the barracks. Jareth watches from a nearby alleyway while Wulrakas stays back at Rostanna's, drinking booze. Inside, Cat learns a little more about what's going on. The Orcs' leader, a name known simply as 'Boss,' has been trapped in the Citadel by something evil. Some Orcs have managed to escape from inside, but the majority are shaken up; apparently this creature, whatever it is, is able to command powerful undead. While learning this new information the distracted Orcs return. Their leader is furious after realizing he's been tricked through magic. In retaliation, he grabs a hapless civilian and batters his head in until death. Jareth runs back to Rostanna's, grabs a drink, and pretends to be drunk, yelling to inform Cat that it's no longer safe in the Barracks. His yelling draws the attention of many of the Orcs inside. Cat uses this to slip out unnoticed. The Orcs' leader (later revealed to be named 'Elite 53') prods Jareth with his spear, cornering him in an alley. He's jumped by the three party members, knocked unconscious, and dragged back to Rostanna's. Here he's hogtied and has two pillowcases placed over his head. After divulging some more information the group decides to leave him in Rexi's Demiplane, under the care of Thruskk. With that taken care of they finally decide to approach The Citadel. Avoiding the trap from earlier, the party encounters a room filled with corpses and lit by lime-green torches. From beneath one of the larger corpses a sickly, pale humanoid slips out and attacks. Cat recognizes it as a powerful ghoul. Proceeding to the next hallway, the group is attacked by a dozen more of these disgusting little monsters. They fend them off in close quarters, creating a pile of bodies. Clambering over the bodies reveals a storage room at the end of the hallway. After looting this area they decide to take a short rest. Unfortunately, their rest is cut short by two disfigured, masked brutes. Cat and Jareth are nearly killed but Wulrakas is able to attract their attention long enough for them to be killed. The room that the two brutes came from is then explored. Tied to a rack is a familiar half-orc -- Jericho -- who begins spewing a bunch of confusing things. Cat is wary and does not believe Jericho is who he says he is, but before they can get more information out of him, he seems to wink from existence.
