Edits... I've consolidated a number of later posts into this one, and updated the information about the campaign's progress. 4-5 hours 6am - 11am PST = 2p - 7p UTC. Two of us are in PST and two in europe. This is the 3rd adventure campaign run in this setting over the past 3+ years... we started with 3.5 gestalt, then switched to cypher system for a few seasons, and now we're about 40 sessions into playing 5e. We started at level 1 zero xp and now we're level 17. Another 10 sessions til level 20 at which point we'll be finishing this campaign and start over at level 1. takes about 60 weeks to get from level 1 to 20 using the suggested rate of progress in the DMG. So far it's been incredibly satisfying. The campaign setting is where Athas(darksun campaign from 2nd ed) has merged with Khorvaire(eberron campaign) and the two societies are violently debating who's in charge. the eberron nations are reimagined as floating continents separated by endless sky where spelljammer(2nd ed. campaign) ships allow for trade and war between the various nations. Cleric / Druid / healer type would be great to flesh out the team's diversity, but we're looking for someone stable that doesn't take the game too seriously who isn't that concerned with power gaming. Our humor is an easy "R" rating and we are far more beer and pretzel/armchair strategy than serious roleplayers... talking more about characters in 3rd person than ever actually "being in character"... which is definitely on the casual end of the gaming culture spectrum; While there's certainly a lot of history from level 1 - 20... only one of the players has been around since before level 12, so a lot of that history isn't very important to the current team, but there's a very broad range of foes, gangs, and monsters that have fleshed out the area rather well, so there's an easy sandbox vibe to the campaign. Here's some quick pro's to joining: 1. level 17+ is very fun. 2. few campaigns can boast level 1 - 20 character play. We're offering that... you'll just be catching the tail end first and work back around to it from level 1 this fall... so if you've hungered for that opportunity, then be welcome. 3. I used to run 3.5 level 22 gestalt campaigns... so I've learned the pitfalls of unbalanced high level teams. 5e does a great job keeping the power curve between classes in check, but our team is no way "power-built" so don't worry about combat efficiency.. our AC ranges from 16 - 21 currently.. I scale the challenges according to the team's ability, not make the team catch up to the CR... so there's lots of room to think about creativity with the characters. Also; I can keep the adventure from flying off the tracks while providing challenging fights and plots as shallow or deep as you care to look. I put a lot out there to pressure the team to take action, but it's very sandbox by nature, so the "master plot" of the campaign is what we as a team decide it is until it changes. . Here's a link to the forum where we post session summaries, houserules, etc... hopefully you'll get a taste of the flavor. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/977161/dn... You don't need much information about darksun, eberron or spelljammer to be able to jump into it... i borrow ideas from all three of the campaigns enough to appreciate if you knw the settings well but stirred together enough to have a structured homebrew sandbox feel to the game setting. and I know a lot of folks don't have a lot of high level experience in 5e since its a new version and its rare for campaigns to build into the mid teens without collapsing, so by all means if you've wanted to test out high level gaming this is a real stable environment to become familiar. current team is 3 half orcs. Barbarian14/druid3 wizard(diviner) 17 rogue 17 (about to dip chaos mage) Primary races in the immediate area are eberron half orcs, humans; athasian halflings and elves. Other races can be accommodated with minimal effort. The wizard has earned rank as an officer in the nation of Droaam's orc armada as a Ship's Mage, so the team is getting resources like airships and minions currently.. though the other two half-orcs are categorized as mercenaries. Be welcome to post here or Message me if you're interested. We're looking for someone as soon as this weekend
