Best way to find games?

New user here. I've had difficulty finding games using the search box (<a href="http://app.roll20.net/lfg/search" rel="nofollow">http://app.roll20.net/lfg/search</a>). I've read through the Looking For Games forum section and found a game or two I'm interested in (S&W/OSR D&D) but I can't turn them up in the search box. Even when looking at the information for the person who posted the 'Hey I have a game!' message I can't find their games. So how do I find and play in a game?
Search is wonky. From the FORUMS, try clicking on anyone in blue. In the right column, directly beneath their avatar, click 'send (x) a msg'. Then atop the mid column, delete their name, and enter the name/s of the individual or known associates/'party members'. Lemme know if this works, or isn't what you intend. If you like, you could xmit the knowns, and I'll attempt to make contact/ send your digits. Numbers, not fingers. : L
Iona - your best bet is to ask the GM for a direct link to join the campaign either via the forum or by PM. There's a specific link to each campaign being run through Roll20. Groups that are looking for players in the forums don't necessarily show up in the separate Looking for Group list in app.roll20.net. There's a change in the forum software coming Monday that should offer a bit more integration between app.roll20.net and community.roll20.net.
Or what he said. Either way, feedback is nice. "Help (we), help you!" "Show me the mana!"
Thanks for the advice, folks. It ought to help me find games more effectively. I hadn't even seen the 'send x a message' link, probably because it's below the advert.

Some people advertise games on other forums and come here to play them. For example: some pathfinder games are advertised (and discussed) over on Paizo's messageboards and then played here. - Gauss
I was going to tell you about Dragonsfoot.org for old school D&D, but looks like you're already over there.

I built my group from mayhem gaming forums so advertising on other forums works. I'm also sending people here to these forums when they can't find games over there.
