Text effect for clarity?

Is there any option I've missed to make text clearer when on the map? I'm after effects such as a background halo as seem on many online maps but any background effect will make notes visible on a busy background map.

Hi Shadowfoot. There is a Suggestion on the Suggestions forum for adding Text Outline / Glow. Right now there is not a built-in feature for that, and a common suggestion is to use the Shape tool to place a solid colored background behind the text if necessary, or just to choose the brightest and most contrasting text color. Roll20 Wiki docs for this, https://wiki.roll20.net/Drawing_Tools#Text_Tool

Hey Shadowfoot. I use transparent squares behind my text to "dull out" the bits of the map behind the text. It's not as nice as a halo effect, but I like it better than solid squares hiding large portions of my map. I made three different transparency levels in photoshop and saved them into my library on Roll20 so I can pull them in whenever I need them.
Thanks, that helps. I hadn't thought of adding an extra element for the text to appear on.
Another option I started using lately is to make black text of what you want to read. Then copy it twice and make two of the fields white. Then offset one of the white text objects by a few pixels to the upper left and the other white text to the lower right of the black text. Obviously make sure the white text is behind the black text. I've considered making this a script. It shouldn't be too hard. <Edited for clarity.>
As a player, I often put a text note on the screen for whatever party buffs are in effect like Bless and Haste. If the background makes it hard to read I'll sometimes draw an opaque black box first and then add the text on top of it. It's a bit of a pain but it works.
