I was just wondering is there a way to minimise the boxes? We're playing with audio only, so not much point them taking up some good screen real estate!

Yeah, under the settings tab in the app. You can set it to display no avatars.

also note, if video/voice stops working yew can switch back and forth between names only and an avatar size for a quick fix rather then reloading the page.
