The System Halo Mythic is a tabletop RPG based on Halo. It works on a d100 degrees of success system. It's a Sci-Fi system that has an in depth combat system and enough rules relating to roleplaying to keep things reasonable without needing to check the rulebook five or six times in a fourty second conversation. Character creation is a bit of a pain, but I have created a six page document that takes new players through the process step-by-step. Our Group We recently lost two players. One because he got a job that interfered with our play times. The other left because he was getting tired of the Sci-Fi theme and wanted to go to a more traditional fantasy theme. Because of this, we are looking to recruit new players. Our group currently consists of four people. We are a lighthearted group and our humor tends towards obscene and crude. If you are easily offended or can't take a joke, this group isn't for you. Also, we are currently using Skype for our games. We play every week on Wednesdays at 3:30 PM PST (GMT-7). Campaigns It is the year 2558. The Human-Covenant war has been over for five years. The remnants of the shattered Covenant roam space as pirates, attacking civilian and transport ships whenever possible. Now that the bloodiest war in history has ended, humans once again begin to put their scientific efforts towards bettering lives instead of ending them. The scientific community has turned its focus to the Forerunner artifacts, remnants from the once near god-like race. These artifacts have the potential to do what was otherwise considered impossible, such as create worlds and allow ships to travel in a few hours distances that would take most ships months to cross. These artifacts are extremely valuable, but also extremely rare. These technologies are found easily at the Halo Installations and at the Ark, but the technologies there are only what are needed for the facilities to function. The more unique artifacts are scattered around the galaxy. This has attracted the interest of the many people. Many people wish to find these artifacts to make themselves powerful, others wish to make a fortune by selling them to the UNSC, some simply want the thrill of the adventure that comes with finding these artifacts. A band of old war buddies has come together for various reasons in search of these artifacts. You are the latest addition to their crew. The GMing style of our group tends to be rather relaxed. A lot of our campaigns are semi-serious and often silly. They tend to be focused more towards role playing rather than roll playing. Our stories telling doesn't tend to be the most compelling, but it's engaging enough to keep most people we've played with invested. We also tend to have quite a few homebrew rules to make the game better (at least we think so). What We're Looking For We are looking for one player. We ask that you meet these criteria. Be at least 16 years old. Speak fluent English. Be able to use skype's voice chat. Be okay with dirty and obscene jokes. Be able to hold your temper and not be aggressive to other members of the group. Know the system OR be capable of learning a new system. Be capable of making it to nearly all weekly games. Remember, we are willing to teach players that are new to the system or even to tabletops in general. We just ask that you are competent and dedicated enough to learn the new systems.
