2nd ED Friday nights?

Anyone up for creating a Friday evening group for 2nd Edition?
Are you offering to DM? *grins*
what time?
No, we'd need a DM.  Anytime really, preferably a weekly game.  Of the tens of thousands of gen x-ers out there who grew up on 2nd edition, there must be people out there who might want to run one.
I've started a 2nd Edition game but all my slots have been filled.  However, People drop out ALL the time so you can still probobly get a spot if keep checking back.
Cloaker - I know exactly what you mean.  Having GM'd two long-term pathfinder campaigns on roll20, I can tell you that it took me a good 2-3 months to get a stable group, after milling through 12-15 people for each group, weeding out the baddies, keeping the good ones that were mature and committed.  It's painful, let me tell you. Why 2nd edition?  It's awesome.  Second, more mature players (you'd think).  Third, multiclassing!!!  Woot!  What day does your game occur on?
Thanks for the reply Friend The first game should take place on or around the 16th of November. so there will definitely be a space open by then. as a matter of fact, I seem to have lost contact with at least one player already. I have not announced the Wait List yet but it's coming very soon. If you like I can place you Number 1 on the list. I could greatly use your insight as you probably have far more experience with the roll20 Virtual Tabletop than I do. Andrew
I'd rather play "now", but yea, put me on your list.
Done and Done my Friend I will contact you the moment a slot opens up and I am sure it will. probably very soon. I started dming 2nd edition over 20 years ago now so I have a great working knowledge of the game. I may start the game a little sooner but I first want to be more proficient with the Virtual Tabletop. That's my weakness right now. Any tips on learning it would be a great help. Andrew
Roll20 is the easiest thing to use.  I watched the demo they have on the main page and I was up and running pretty quick.  When creating the campaign, go to the map layer to put in the bottom layer of the map, it can be rocky, grass, stone, etc.  Then, put props on top of that, like trees, buildings, etc.  When you're done making the map (you'll get good at it pretty quick), switch to the token layer and add the tokens on there - PC's and NPC's, monsters, whatever else that will be moving around the screen.  Then, if you really want to up your kung fu, become a supporter so you can use dynamic lighting.  It's a breeze when you get doing it for a few sessions.
Cloaker - if you want to jump into a campaign of mine, I can promote you to DM and show you anything you need to know how to do, and you can practice it with someone there if you have questions. Just PM me.
Really ?  That would be wonderful. Just give me a date and i'll be there. Thank you so much friend. Andrew

Thanks a Million Friend. That is Extremely encouraging news. the layers make perfect sense now. I plan to become a supporter very soon, it's just that I don't have a credit card anymore. I got a little carried away with my ebay purchases. I am planning to use mom's though. I just have to wait until she's in a really good mood...
Cloaker, are you planning to run this Fridays?  Any ideas around character creation?  Stat rolling/buying rules?  Can you provide details on the campaign setting?
The campaign should begin in about 6 weeks. We are going to be exploring the world of Faerûn. The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. Spanning Levels 1-21, I will be using Official 2nd Edition Adventures with the occasional Bridge. I can make up my own adventures but I really enjoy reading the published ones more. The story could easily branch out to other settings. I have not heard from at least 2 of my players in the past 4 days so go ahead and post something under the campaign so I can send an invite. at which point you can join the game and roll your ability scores. we are using Method VI in the 2nd Edition Player's Handbook. Roll 7d6 in-game. if you score less than 30. Re-roll. If you score more than 40. Re-roll. Your roll for gold depends on what character you choose. see starting gold under your class description in the PH. I'm not sure which day the game will fall on. it's whatever you and the player's want. I'm pretty much open, being a stay at home day 3-4 days a week, I'm always here and I never work past 7:00pm (EST). Hope that works for you Andrew
Count me in if they 2 dont appear. Iraklis
I'll do that for you no problem.
Excited, plz send me a PM with the link.  Best day for me is Friday at this point, but 6 weeks is a ways out.  My favorite character types are multiclass, usually fighter/mage or some other rendition of warrior and caster type.  Add me to skype if you like.   natethegreat976
I'm going to download Skype tonight. a couple of my players prefer it so I think we'll use that. I'm so sorry about the long wait. I just want to be sure that I know roll20 inside and out. I want to give you guys the Best gaming experience possible. I am making progress quickly though. Would you be open playing a Wizard ? Perhaps a Militant Wizard (see Complete Wizard's Handbook) ? seems like my original wizard has dropped out and we need some Heavy artillery.
What level are we starting?  Let's talk characters when you're on Skype.
All level 1. Max HP to Start and at Level Up. Fighter/Mage's are among my favorite classes. That could work... i'm gonna get Skype now and get in touch with you tonight hopefully.
