uploaded pdfs have enormous white margins

I uploaded several pdf pages that are all picture but when they get transferred to roll20 they have enormous white side margins on either side that overlap other pictures. Any tips on how to prevent these white spaces from occuring in the upload, how to remove them after upload, or some other way to solve this problem? Thank you guys.
if it helps, i took the four pages (4 parts of one picture, each on a standard page), pasted them to an open word document, exported it as a pdf, then uploaded the pdf one page at a time using the drag and drop interface.

word documents put a margin boarders on most of their stuff for it is a word processor. That is your white margins. Use gimp for your graphics. It is free software also. If you use gimp export them to jpg format because unless you need transparency jpg works best for their small file size.
