Hi, Im not sure. How can I see what template is used (we are playing Forgotten Realms / Pathfinder if that helps).
I'll bet you're using the Pathfinder Character Sheet ! I moved this thread to the Character Sheets forum, and tagged it to make it more visible to the sheet's authors. Hopefully one drops by and helps out.
Hi Silvyre, thanks very much!

Look for a Buff that includes "Check".  Try toggling it on/off or removing it completely. Something else, look for an attribute called "checks-cond" on the Attributes and Abilities tab of the character journal and delete it.
Hi Vince, sorry for not coming back to you earlier but I wasnt online. It was not exactly your advice that helped me but it was close enough for me to fix it :-) The solution: There was no checks-cond attribute at all, so I created it with value 1 and now it works. Thank you very much for your help!! I dont know how to mark this thread as "solved" but if you can do it, please do so.

The particular translation sheet was copied right when we had that bug, so all sheets are missing the attribute. I forget , is it the Spanish version?. Hopefully someone will translate the new sheet soon. It is a lot easier to translate since all the strings/words/phrases are in one file.
Hi Chris, no, it is the English version.
