Old-Timer Looking to Get Back (LFG)

Greetings, Roll20 denizens! My name is Dylan, and I am a role-player. I started out playing D&D back in Junior High and played pretty regularly up through college. We stopped AD&D at 2e, but I've perused quite a bit of 3.5 as it has been availiable online. Additionally, I've played Shadowrun, Talislanta, Earthdawn, Torg, Gamma World, some others I can't remember. I haven't played in roughly 15 years. I've been in small towns without gaming communities for about 10. Role-playing is in my blood and I have longed to find a group. I tried RPOL, but it was too damn slow and lacked the spontaneous interaction that real tabletop gets. I just found this website and would like to get back to playing, thinking this might be the closest to the ol' gathering around the dining room table with a few buds and brews and cooking up some delightful stories of heroism and folly. I remember enjoying it just as much, if not more, when things went horribly wrong and we all barely got through it. I've been listening to THACO Podcast for a few years, now, and have learned about a lot of games I might want to play. My dream game now is probably the Dresden Files. I have in the, dusty recesses of my garage, core books for Talislanta 2nd edition, Torg, Gamma World (2e), and the Wheel of Time d20 game. If materials for your game are easily available online (like 3.5, Pathfinder, etc.), that would be great. My favorite games were Earthdawn and Shadowrun, but I'm easy. I will play any character type, if you need to plug me in to a group dynamic. By the time I get done making a character, I'm already getting excited about it, regardless of class, race, whatevah. I am in the Mountain Time zone in the US (GMT -7). I would prefer to play in the later evenings on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Sunday or Wednesday evenings are a possibility if it doesn't go too late. I may have to skip a session once in a while because I got kids and a wife and you know how it is. Hopefully, once I get back into the swing of things and learn how all this works, I can try my hand at running a game. We'll see. Thank you for your consideration. I am looking forward to chasing the dragon again after being so long on the wagon.

Hey Dylan - My group is in the planning stages of adding a low-fantasy campaign to be played on Saturdays. Right now we're tentatively using the preview version of FATE Core - which is an evolution of the system used in the Dresden Files RPG. As a caveat, its probably a few weeks away, but if you're interested and want to get in on the ground floor just let me know via PM. Otherwise, hang tough 'til you find something, keep your eyes open and good luck.
Dylan, go to *removed*. I am in a few games and would love for you to join in any of them. Take a look at the Rise of the Runelords that is about to start on Friday nights.
@ CDavis77: I just built a 3.5 character for another campaign that I was going to apply to join. They pulled their post right after I finished. Maybe I can use it for that. I'll look at it.

CDavis77: I removed a section of your post due to piracy issues. If this is in error please let me know. Note: most information for Pathfinder can be legally obtained (for free) on d20pfsrd.com while some of the 3.5 material can be legally obtained (for free) through the various 3.5 SRDs out there. - Gauss
Gauss, you are the flippin' man. If the OP wants old-school, with old-timers, may want to search 'Swords and Wizardry'. Much of the OSR stuff is practically identical, and much of it is free, as opposed to 'free'.
And if you want the 3.5 rulebooks, look no further than: <a href="http://www.dndclassics.com/index.php?filters=44735_44705_0" rel="nofollow">http://www.dndclassics.com/index.php?filters=44735_44705_0</a>
