C1 - Titans of the Demon Wastes - Character Development - Feng the Spirit Warrior

This thread has been opened to develop unique goals and side comments/ideas uniquely pertinent to your character.
goals: - find Rodrigo, then talk Mahewa into regrowing that dog's leg. possible ways of tracking .. use the network of poodles since i can talk to them and they are mobile little bastards. even if they don't have names (or if that pup isn't known as "Rodrigo" to them) the age and missing leg should help narrow down targets. alternatives include spot checks via Commune With Nature, though i doubt that would include any locations on the Eatherial/Spirit Side of things. - figure out why the fey ring apparently gets a hateon everytime i use magic to talk to the nature spirit. 10 hp a pop ain't gonna kill me outright, but that shit's annoying as hell and will put a crimp in my longterm plans. or i guess in the greater scheme of things figure out what exactly the purpose of that ring is in the first place. "you are the chosen one" is vague. "you have been chosen to open up a fey themed restaurant and gift shop" is more specific but less helpful. - check on modifying Graal's Maul. if i can manage to downsize that to a warhammer i can start using a shield again. + AC = good times. at least if i'm gonna keep having people try to eat my face.
You know Rodrigo was last seen in the wreckage of the felled Droaam Command Ship Adm. Heron was commanding... but now that Chuck has scry, you may be able to find him more easily... We recently correlated that when you tryed to commune with nature in the squid temple, the hallowed space was banning fey access.. once out of the temple, you were no longer taking the damage... As for Graal's Maul... are you pursuing the shillelagh spell as a solution? what else you got?
As soon as we're not actively engaged in a Kafkaesque nightmare version of Looney Tunes i'm making finding Rodrigo my priority. Chuck's scrying will be an asset. More effective then doing three dozen commune with nature rituals or trading in a favor with something nasty. Graal's Maul. I dig the weapon and it does have history, but sooner rather then later i'll be switching to somethin straight up onehanded. Shillelagh & club would work, since the kind of shmoes we run across these days pretty much have a "magical weaponry required" tag on them by default. If another more druid-appropriate weapon presents itself i might switch out for it. If I end up not using the Maul anymore i'll see about finding another custodian for it. Still getting the hang of spells. Current default setting is having 'Healing Word' in one slot and switching the other available one to me out on a daily basis. Last session was Jump, the day before that was Goodberry. I'll start prepping potential animal form templates to shift into. Things that make sense, I have seen before and are within my CR range. Dunno how effective those will be in combat, but as a utility feature : classic.

blink dog... be rodrigo's asigned Big Brother
semi-long term plan. prepare a sword handle to cast the Flame Blade spell into (much like the daily charged magic missile wands the casters are so fond of) - beginning of the day either burn a 2th level ritual plus the spell slot for the standard 3d6 variety of the spell, potentially make it scalable by either using higher powered versions of the ritual & spell slot combo to simulate juicing up the level at which the spell is being cast. i won't have access to Flame blade for another level anyway so i still got some time to figure this out. making my own magic weapon from scratch is going to be harsh, but having a containment vessel for the spell seems more reasonable. plus, you know, lighsaber.

makes sense. Chuck could potentially favor the Droaam military complex to furnish you with an unattuned spellwand.... also Grimm the Enchanger if you don't manage to kill him first.  Also; the Varias Coven
Flame Blade is now in my Spell list, so that'll be a thing. Pro - lasts 10 minutes - can be cast and reactivated with a bonus action - 3d6 worth of fiery hate Con - it's concentration based and so are pretty much all the other decent goddamn spells i have - no official note on being able to upscale the spell by using higher level slots (all of the dirty little slots i have access to) - not very subtle. 10ft rad lightsource. update to my life goals. sword/scimitar handle as a wand aka storage device for the magical mojo that thurr is "The Fiery Blade of Ouch-Quit It" (tm) "if you're going to jump nuts first into a woodchipper to make/steal/barter for a magic item , why stop at just one spell ?" good question. thinking 3 somewhat related spells - one cup (or rather: sword). first one would be Flame Blade, the othger two as yet to be announced. "for that matter, why do this §$%&/ in the first place ? why don't you go home ? don't you like your home ?" because i want the option of using sword blade without having to keep burning 2nd lev slots to recast it every time i want to chuck a concentration spell. have the item take over concentration duties (effectively) for the sword. i'm guessing i'll need to track down something either expensive, rare or really fiery as material component. should have grabbed me a piece of hell while i was passing through. not. so very much not.
feasible goal... considering gang has a very similar magic item of fey origin.. you've got a pixie claiming your ring is hers... so there's a potential easy path there... especially if you offered to leave the pirates alone in exchange for favor ( which would probably include preventing Droaam from trashing the pirates as well... big choice to make )
if wandering druid is the endgame goal for Feng, and wandering in the Etherial is a very viable choice, and tonsa Fey creatures inhabit it .. like blink dogs ... then being able to communicate with them effortlessly is a much bigger advantage long term then a favor from one pissed of Pixie with a confused sense of material ownership. that's not even counting me doing a 180 after we shredded through a couple of graduating classes worth of pirates. i think i'm stuck either looking for alternate sources or prepping an item myself. if this goes like i think it's gonna neither  Grimm the Enchanter nor "soon-to-be-perforated" Pixie are about to hand over any favors at the end of the battle.
lol  great references.   well then it looks like back to the Gatekeepers which is probably the most sensible place for an ether vagabond like Feng the Druid would associate with.
Feng was not overly impressed by the kung fu of the gatekeepers. their help in defense of the planet was appreciated, but less then epic. Feng's goals have shifted slightly from merely controlling the ragemonster to seeing the bigger picture. the game is afoot. titans exist, are being used by anyone delusional or powerhungry or knowledgeable enough to summon them and the pinkskins are squabbling amongst themselves while the greenskins are busy as fuck holding off the demon fallout from TWO FUCKING PLANE MELDINGS AGO. this will not do. no way orc kids will ever grow up playing in peace without the demons being dealt with. no way the continents will ever know tranquility if every 1000 years ago the shit hits the fan and the nightmare starts over. first demons, then athasians, wtf is next. chances are it won't be unicorns and puppies. let the idiot pinkskins squabble. Feng is now druid and has to act in service of the greater good. First off, become better at what he already does. Cast spells, be one with nature, master the elements, defend his homeland, hunt down every goddamn demon he can find. kill them all. no matter which plane they inhabit. he can find them, he can track them and he will smite the shit out of them. the goal is to clean up rather then contain the mess the demon incursion left. I want that portal CLOSED FOR BUSINESS. in the process he is aiming to get to druid level 20 and age slowly enough that at least one humanoid will remember the lessons learned through this fuckstorm. and if he makes it there early enough ? prepare. research new rituals. set up wards. make alliances with elementals and nature spirits. train druids that are worth a fuck. craft items of power. the next plane shift is coming. and this time he'll be there waiting for it.
