Session 39 Log We start on the moon orbiting Lost Reach. Outer Reach is claiming the planetlet. We contact our publicist to have them promote the idea that the Neon Tygers 'liberated' Lost Reach. The battle against the Sathar has been won, but the war isn't over. Rodworth wants to start a Widows and Orphans fund and throws in 1000 credits to start. Also, investigate the insurance company that's been harrassing us. Looking to build a cantina in the bio-stable dome. Interns come up with some crazy names. Rodworth suggests "The Cat's Cradle". Eusyl works on repairs for the freighter. We discover sabatoge in one engine, there are total of 2 pellets. The others explore the rest of the dome, finding a few sickly quillbats. If we lower the zinc in the soil ,they should soon be gone. The UPF fleets arrive. Hundreds of people are working on the repairs of the big ship and the dome, which should take a couple of weeks. We send the Admiral some apples. The freighter is now up and running. We fly back to Styrigia. During the flight, Eusyl continues repairs. We arrive at Pinnacle Station. Officer Mamba says he can see us. We process the paperwork to claim our ship as salvage. We sell back our half-built ship for 746k credits. The group meets with Mamba in a conference room. He notes our new ventures. We're because we've seen some private data that most haven't. He shows us the schematics we'd recovered from Dark Station. He says they've sent false info to the Malthar since he also saw this data. Noting that the Sathar were installing not taking these schematics, Rodworth theorizes that there may be multiple factions among the Sathar. The schematics are clearly from a third civilization. It's thought that the Sathar have access to this civilization. This civilization appears to be feeding us superior tech. Their life support systems in particular are much more efficient. It would alter the needs of spaceports and ships completley making them autonomous. No evidence of weaponry designs. The UPF is looking for a crew to go exploring. There's a set of directions that possibly might lead to these aliens. We've been having problems doing jumps and the aliens have a new technique for hyperspace travel that would make it easier. We agree to consider it and the ship will be ready in about 2 weeks. The Tygers go see the Malthar in his room on Pinnacle. He opens the door and there's a terrible stench. He is in awful shape, maybe dying. He agrees to indemnify us in the issue of the usage of the Goldenrod. He offers to sell us the Darkworld station. If we take it, the insurance companies would pursue us. We decline, and consider raiding the station. We go back to our base and head out and see Scoony, whose looking older. He reveals that since things are getting civilized, he's no longer dying his hair, giving himself a form of respectability. Rodworth gets some sources for Alchohol to send up to Lost Reach. We go to Artemis' which looks even more fortified but with less people. They let us all in (even Kyle) and we see Joseph who compliments us on our lost reach efforts. He considering a VP slot with Justin White. He has concerns about his past and his motives but has a good feeling. We discuss possibly pursuing an investigation of Alex Styrigi. Joseph says others are watching him so he hasn't done anything recently. We consider checking on his possible previous actions. Artemis mentions that a bunch of her girls were recruited to Lost Reach. Also, neighborhoods are forming private police forces, which may become the standard for the future. She's considering turning in her spurs and handing the reins to Sparky. We go to the insurance company to clear up the Goldenrod business. We ask for Dr. Strye. He appears. He says that the UPF has taken over the concern. Rodworth asks about the Darkworld Station. The agent for that account is a Yazirian name Yoanyantz. He's in Glitter dome. The Yaz. receptionist rings him. Yoanyantz is wearing some unconventional clothing and comes off like a used car salesman. We offer to buy it as scrap. He refuses it and says it's being bought by Justin White. We contact our loadmaster to see if we can do a run with our freighter. We'll use one cargo unit for liquour, the rest will be metals. We hire a chef and some waitstaff. We buy 6 pellets (12,000 cr). We'll burn one pellet for thrust. We arrive and sell our metal and have 1.25 million Cr. The cooks say they've gone through the records and discover that an attempt to make a superior meat animal but failed. The group approaches the other cantina/gambling house and offer to buy the owner out. He offers 100k we counter 15k and a ride home. The crew of the restaurant want to branch out. We offer to have them become the entertainment division of the Neon Tyger. We give them 50K seed money. They also contemplate starting the Security division which we suggest hiring Screechers and Valkyries. We prepare to head back to Outer Reach.
