Welcome one and all! I posted my game up here a while back and hosted for two groups for a short while. But finally my schedule has opened up so I'm back to it. Dungeons and Dragons Simplified is a custom ruleset I've been working on for the past decade, ironing out large and small details alike to make the game as fluid and fun as possible. The system is flexible and suits just about any setting and character composition. Best of all, it helps new players learn the basics of D&D while simultaneously offering an open-ended system for experienced players to do the things they want but can't in other systems. NEW PLAYERS , don't worry if you don't have any books or other sources. I'll give you everything you need in order to play the game. Being new, you'll need things explained to you and would likely enjoy a few examples and suggestions along the way. I'm more than happy to walk with you from step one. Don't worry about anything until it comes up. You're here to learn and I'm here, ready and willing to teach . VETERANS , please let me know what experience you have. What editions have you played? What campaigns have you played? Have you ever DMed a game? What races and classes do you prefer? What have you not done? What would you like to do? What can't you do? Let me know about you so I know what I'm working with . Veterans who help teach new players will find me very accommodating. If you're interested in one-shots , please keep in mind that I am more than happy to do so, but my main focus is a long term group for my campaign. If you're interested in a long term game , my campaign is called Chargebearers and Harbingers . The basic synopsis is that the deities, good and evil alike, all have one common enemy: The Darkness. While good and evil deities have their differences, they all still desire for the world and at least some of its inhabitants to exist. The Darkness is the opposite; seeking to destroy and corrupt all existence however possible. The players take on the roll of Chargebearers, defenders of all existence, against the Harbingers of Darkness. Though as you fight the Darkness and defend your fellow men, you must also carry forth your deity's (or deities') will, meaning that you must occasionally fight the very people who help you in your fight against the Darkness. Life, freedom, and existence itself all hang in the balance among trust, honor, and desire. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns by posting here. If you're interested please add my Skype daxtt.ivarian with information about your experience and preferences. Edit: Oh, and don't forget to let me know if you prefer a one-shot or the long term game. DDSC: Dungeons & Dragons Simplified Compendium First and foremost, this game uses enumerated rules. Basically, unless I say you cannot do something, you can do it. Unless I say you cannot be a fighter/cleric/druid/bard/mage/succubus/jibberjabel, you can be it. Forget ALL of your previous experiences when it comes to rules and stereotypes. I want you to focus on your character and the game. Secondly, I follow the motto "unless it must, it isn't". Basically, if you have ten Rings of Protection, you can wear each and every one of them. You'll suffer a penalty when using your hands, because wearing so many rings does make your hands clumsy, but you will enjoy the benefits of those ten Rings of Protection. Just because you're a Paladin doesn't mean you have to stick to lawful good. As you should be able to tell by now, everything is either based on logic, common sense, or just whatever would make the game more enjoyable and open for players to explore. Please see my game listing for more information on the mechanics of my game.
