GM defined character templates?

Is there a way to create a GM defined character template, basically a set of attributes and abilities common to all characters. So as a GM I can add a bunch of attributes and abilities once and they flow to all characters, the players can not change the names but could add their values. Players would still add other things normally but they would also inherit from the template. I am thinking each campaign could have one template, only the GM would be able to update the template and it would apply to all characters. this would make the new scripting stuff you added a lot easier to work with ( selected tag) thoughts?
Nope. You could create an api script that could create a new character, but they would be able to edit the names.
So I am thinking that might be a great enhancement.

You can create a template, duplicate it, rename the duplicates, and then assign them to players. However, players can then modify the character sheets. - Gauss
I love the idea of being able to make a template. It would be nice if it had lots of options as well, so one could have groups of attributes with headers, like Abilities and then list all the abilities, Skills, etc. I would love to be able to craft different templates that don't clutter up my already under-organized characters list. Most of it would be cosmetic, but a few cosmetic changes can make a world of difference when trying to explain the "templates" to new players.

As a Mentor (and I think as a subscriber) you would have access to the transmogrifier which lets you move items (maps, handouts, decks, etc.) from one campaign to another. So you set up one campaign with a name like 'Paperwork' or 'Templates' that hold all the blank sheets, monsters, etc. that you've made, then you just copy them from the administrative 'campaign' into the current campaign as needed.

Sorry. It lets you copy items. Not move them. Copying is much better than moving. :)

The Transmogrifier is currently Mentor only. - Gauss
I left out a skill on my characters and I found myself wishing for a "copy to->" dropdown to allow me to copy to other character sheets.
