I have designed a character sheet for Traveller 5 . Let's hope it will work properly with the rules. I have ordered it a little differently from the character sheet in the book. So far, I did not set up any Abilities for you, as the dice-rolls in the game are too varied and you may want to set up an ability roll only for your most frequently-used skill tasks. Since I don't know yet what your skills are going to be, I can't define any, but we'll see how that goes later. I have made a copy of this sheet for each person who joined the campaign. Your sheet is currently named "For [your name]" and you have editing control. Replace this with the name of your character, and fill in the rest according to the game rules. Some of you don't seem to be selectable when I assign control to characters. If there is no character sheet reserved for you, let me know. For your Homeworld (usually the same as your Birthworld except on a roll of 1 on 1D), roll this randomly in the Character Homeworld table in the Background to the Verdulan Frontier (a .doc file I have stored on my personal web site). Coming from a Homeworld grants your character one or two beginning skills, according to the Trade Codes of that world. http://downstat.homestead.com/files/Traveller/Background_to_the_Verdulan_Frontier_v.1.3.doc I will be defining some Sophont races , and putting Sophont Handouts in the Journal. By an amazing fluke of nature, one robotic race is available for player-characters as well. They come from the moon Frideyo, in the Kalkinio system ("kahl-kee-NEE-o", hex 0612) on the Verdulan side. Robot PCs are supported by the T5 rules. If you are interested in a non-human character, let me know. It is a big job to generate a character in Traveller 5th-edition. You are generating skills for each 4-year term in education or in a career, and each term may get you at least 4 skill levels plus extras from commissions or promotions or achieving certain ranks. There were many errata in the skills tables, but I have amended my book and file copies of the game and can assist. I am going to set up "office hours" at more than one day of the week in the next week or two, to meet with you in the game area and generate characters. You can assume that the character party has an all-purpose starship which is enough to house all the characters, "Firefly" style. The ship may EVEN be all paid-up, but there may be an obligation tied to that. Again, there are a few things I have left to do to define the game and (oh yes) making adventure scripts too!
