Can't use the new art library system.

Hey guys, it's my first post and it's to sign up as 'resident thick person.' I logged in today to work on a map for my game and saw the new library layout. Fair enough, only now I can't seem to get any of the assets onto the map. I can't drag anything over like I used to. What happened and what do I do now to build maps? Thank you very much, the village idiot.

I'm having the same issue as well. I don't know if perhaps I'm going blind but I don't know what to click in order to upload my own maps to my library. The little star isn't there anymore.

Yes i can't drag and drop to the map anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have several maps i need to populate with items before Sunday! Please fix this!

I am able to put my already uploaded assets onto the map, but I can't upload new ones at all. The Wiki hasn't been updated yet, so I have no idea what to do.

How do you change how the basic functionality works with a new update? All the art library needed was a better search engine to find stuff and maybe folder functionality for those that like folders. Now the icons are so small i can't see what i'm looking at! The items in my library don't come up when i search for them making my tagging system to find them pointless and i can't drag and drop items to the map once on the off chance that i do find what i'm looking for. Map building is kinda useless at this point!

What browser, browser version, operating system are you using? Is there anything showing up in the console log when you attempt to drop the asset on the VTT? By not working do you mean nothing happens or does it try and open the file in a different tab? Also are we talking about uploading new assets for the first time from files on your computer or from your library? If the issue is from your library, make sure you're dragging the object name and not its handle, just like the folder structure in the journal.

Firefox, several versions. Windows 10, 7 and 8. I found out you need to drag the url, not the image. It is a bit weird because the url just takes away from the image. It would be better to have the images the way it was before as they are too small. But, there is no way to upload new images anymore. The link to it is gone. I had to make a break in the game right now as I can't upload my map.

Ok, helpful, but no way to upload from within the game without needing a new window causes issues with small screens like tablets. But all in all I like the new system

Bulk uploading is now possible through the drag and drop process. The browse method of uploading was removed but there's nothing about the library changes that should make it so you can't upload new assets to your library or the tabletop. I've included a gif demonstrating.&nbsp; We will likely add a browse method of uploading images again in the next few weeks. However, there shouldn't be anything about the process preventing you from adding new assets to your game.

Well this is pissing me off... My art library is all but gone and nothing works. Thanks for the update

I have had some difficulty with using it as well, trying to move art from the sidebar of My Library and onto the grid. I can get it to work, but I have to make sure that while I am clicking and dragging that I don't drag over any of the other options on the side bar. You have to go directly across to the left and onto the grid to drop it, otherwise it seems to unselect the art I'm grabbing. I am using Chrome. Oh and also, when I go to search for new art there are always some art that comes up under Premium Assets that I dont own. This is normal. However I am no longer able to double click on the art to bring up the link in order to directly move over to the Marketplace to view the art pack that it is in. Instead I have to open up a new tab on Chrome and manually search for the creator's name to pull up the art pack it is in. This is a bit annoying to do. Anyone else dealing with this?&nbsp;

So as an example i have a bunch of art in my folder with the tag rubble. When i type that in the search field nothing with that tag shows up in the panel to the right from my library. It just spins endlessly searching for it and all i get is the art from the web. I am using chrome. This is unacceptable! I want to be able to use the stuff i painfully collected from the web as my first option in the browser before i get the from the web options!

Anyone else dealing with this?&nbsp; You're right. Clicking on the premium asset is supposed to bring up it's pack's marketplace profile. Thank you for pointing out that that isn't working currently.

getting exactly the same problem when it comes to searching stuff. atleast when it comes to things in my art library that i got from the web and -not- the stuff i uploaded myself. all that stuff collected over the years lost within the matrix :&lt;

IMHO it worked better before this update. i can't find good content via search anymore.

An update is for fixing issues, bugs, or what not. I had no issues, bugs, and what not before this update. Maybe others did. But I think a fair question is Why was this update made?

Because it was a&nbsp; suggestion that was supported by quite a few people. Personally, I like the new set up. Makes it a lot easier for me to find my assets. Granted, I don't do a lot of searching in-game to find stuff and typically modify the stuff I do find on the web before pulling it into a game, so the search capability isn't really affecting me. And the bulk upload capability (which Steve K mentioned should be coming in a couple of weeks) would be awesome, because I don't necessarily want to drag a bunch of stuff to my VTT just to get it into my library, just to delete it from my VTT until I'm ready to use/place it. So, not perfect—but, for me at least, better than it was.

The issue isn't dragging images to the table! It is not being able to use the tagging system so you can use the images from your library and the images are too small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problems many above have. A new problem is that I set up a tagging system for my many images, using the image as key, but the library lists them by filename! I have no idea what that is, especially since many were screenshots with cryptic number suffixes. Yes, I can scroll through every one to see the teeny-tiny image, but cannot search that way.&nbsp; Biggest problem: I cannot drag-and-drop from Devin's art list (under Free Assets) to the character page, nor can I save it to my computer.&nbsp; I use Chrome 51.0 on a Mac 10.10 (Yosemite).&nbsp; -Falsoon

It is worse than I thought. I cannot *SEARCH* through MyLibrary. I search for half-orc and I get expanded folder entries (way too many!) from everything. I click on MyLibrary so I can search on my art, and the search keyword goes away. When I put it back, the MyLibrary link disables and I am back where I was with the universal search. The search keyword and an active MyLibrary link seem to be mutually exclusive. I have hundreds of art assets in MyLibrary, and cannot scroll through every one to find a single image I am looking for. -Falsoon

Ziechal, Yes, I am DnD correctly, because I can do it on some images, but not on Devin's images. It is marked as a free asset, and I have bought packages, so I thought I could do the same. Is there something special for Devin's? -Falsoon

This new format is awful. Everything is too small, forcing me to mouse over everything in order to see what it is. It makes the web resources even more difficult to use, as the link is not a description of the item. Even the marketplace purchases (which I feel this format was designed to push) are obnoxiously small and I'm more reliant on the item name rather than it's picture. Oh wait, I can mouse over every single block to see if its the one I'm looking for, that's way better than being able to identify it by sight immediately! This is causing map building to take 3 times longer than usual. We need an option to either disable this feature or controls to adjust the sizing/format. The old system was simple, but that's what made it so efficient. This new style is just cumbersome.

Ziechel, Your video on tagging items in MyLibrary was useful, except that I do not get "From your library" entry in the art journal. At least this time, It seems to be trying, but it is still "Searching your library" for the last, oh, 6 minutes! &nbsp; -Falsoon

Although I quickly figured out you use the URL to drag to the map, I can no longer drag and drop for either icon porftrait -or- for the rollable tables. When I attempt to drag the picture to the table it, instead, places it on the map. I've tried every technique I can think of. Any way around this? I need a table by Friday. Your explanation above shows it being dragged per normal, but it doesn't work at all when I try it. I use the latest edition of Firefox.

I have found the answer regarding the drag and drop. I have to place the sheet (either character sheet or roll table) very close to the right edge of the page, then be sure the arrow (or hand) is on the lower half of the drag-and-drop box. It will not take if the picture is on the box, only the hand/arrow and not if the arrow is high in the box. Any chance we'll get the "save image as" again when you right click? A great many of the images have white backgrounds which must be cut off and replaced with an invisible background to be functional.

There was an error where certain users were not getting their previously "starred" web search images in their Recent Uploads. We pushed out a bugfix this morning to hopefully resolve this issue.&nbsp;Let us know if that's still a problem.
