Map folders or branching tree organisation

My GM uses a LOT of maps, from individual establishments like taverns and houses, to large country and world maps. He has a lot of trouble finding the maps he wants at any given time however, and many of these maps are used too often to archive inactive ones. My suggestion is to be able to organise maps in either a folder or branching tree format so that related locations can be put together and it will be easy for GM's to find any one of a hundred of their maps in mere seconds, just like characters and other things that are far more organised.
Thanks for posting this!
Organization is always in style.
