Within the local city there have been whispers of strange and undead creatures, all signs seem to point to the ancient ruins which are located just outside the city. Your group has been tempted by tales of ancient artifacts and treasures left abandoned within the ruins as well as the promise of gold for clearing out the place of any creatures which linger there.
