Log 40 XP and Art

On the trip back from Lost Reach, Rodworth calls together the Team to discuss inviting the Valkyries and the Screechers to merge with the Neon Tygers due to expending business interests and the inabilities of Tygers to provide adequate attentions to all their new obligations. At first Rodworth is met with little resistance, but it soon fades as everyone mulls it over realize that the idea has merit. Rodworth radio’s ahead to the cargo manager for their transport business, Artemis, the head of the Screechers and the Worker they left in charge of Neon’s Entertainment division on Lost Reach that he would like to talk to them. When the team arrives back at Base, Artemis and the head of the Screechers arrive, the rest of the invited radios into to the meeting, and Rodworth pitches his idea. Everyone but Artemis jumps on the idea, but after Rodworth sweet talks her, Artemis climbs aboard the band wagon , and expanded Neon Tyger Corporation is Born, with Artemis as chief operational officer, responsible to day to day operations and seeing that each of the branches of the company has what it needs. The head of the Screechers is made head of Security division, responsible for providing the man power for client security needs and the detail for the Lost Reach Entertainment division security needs. While the original team members will be board members responsible for special missions and plotting the future course of the entire company. There is little time to celebrate the reorganization of the Neon Tygers , as we are informed that UPF has the ship ready for mission to explore the new jump routes found when they studied the files that were down load to Dark Station computer. The ship, The Intrepid, is a modified assault scout with load of remote and atmospheric probes. We say our good byes and Kyle gives Artemis the security codes and robot override codes, the Head of Screechers is also given code but Artemis codes overrides his. On our way out of the system we receive a call from a Cargo ship, on board is Rodworth brother Barnes, responding to Challenge for one on one combat to decide leadership of Shimout clan. Rodworth informs him that he out of his way out of the system on an important mission for the UPF, but will engage him when the Neon Tyger returns. Due to the nature of the mission and the need for multiple jumps, it becomes necessary for team to overhaul the drives after jump, so we jump into the first system, the one where we found the aliens mining the asteroid field. We go dark and glide thru the system while performing the drive override to the nearest jump point. We make it out of the system without an issue. In the next sunless system we detect a planetoid with fleet of ships orbiting it. As we examine the planetoid it becomes apparent that the ships are disassembled and are not in orbit around a center of mass, it seem like this is a trap, so we continue to next jump point. The next system is also sunless and we find several planetoids that seem to be heated internally, we deploy a remote probe but get little usable data. We decide to continue to pass by the planetoid into the next system. This system has a gas giant but no sun; we find several planetoids orbiting the gas giant, with one that appears to be emitting a signal. We deploy one of atmospherical probes, but due to violent weather it is destroyed, we continue on to the next system which appears to have no planetoids. The next system we jump to, we find a neutron star, with several planetoids orbiting it. We decide to deploy a remote probe to study the neutron star as none exist within the frontier hopping to cash in prize offer by the UPF for discovering one. The next system is filled with Dust particles, and prove to be a hazard to navigate, we detect a planetoid that emitting energy and signal but due to nature of the system, we would find escaping any pursuit impossible. We glide undetected by the habitant of system and alter our plans not to explore a series of side jumps that loop around to next system. Jumping into what the last jump before the system being mined, we find a Sathars’ Frigate, emitting a radio beacon. We launch our remaining probes hoping to gather data, but the Frigate does not respond. Apparently another trap to lure in the unwary so we jump back into the mining system, there we pass with no incident and finally jump back into our home system after a month of exploration.

While the neutron star was not a pulsar, here a little poem Rodworth recited as we passed the Neutron star in the Alien system. DEAR PULSAR I listen for you every night among the stars so far and bright I hope to hear your siren's song of entropy gone quite wrong.  And through your glow is very dim, a brilliant core shine beneath Neutronium skin, but I will not see it any way for I am blind To gamma rays. I search for you along with clouds of dark matter, and what I Do not find only makes me sadder. I am drawn near by some  Mutual attraction, but I can never be just another silent dark Companion to you pulsar. You spin so rapidly in one place, your inertia drag warps time And space. Like a gyro built by some techno god, you are a Radio beacon to guide our alien hearts. While other find you Dense and Dark, to me you are a bright ball of a trillion billion Quarks. Destine to decay away till you are a giant particle of Strange. I some time think you are taking unfair advantage. We all know That stellar phenomena are the height of intellectual high fashion  And even if I would try to sate my passion, I cannot because of Seti, The Radio telescope time is highly ration, my dear Pulsar. I hear that strange worlds may orbit you, I envy them their scenic view To see you would be to stare upon the face of god. A perfect sphere with No surface mares. And if I was to visit there, I will need to bring along   Some bottle air. For their atmospheres were blown away on the event Of your birthday. I stay up at night pondering your dilemma, any answer that I found I surely cannot remember. To me you remain an unusual enigma, for All my equations seem to be filled by constants like sigma, my dear  Pulsar.
Great idea to merge with Screeches and Valkyries, nice way to build the company and still open it up for party adventures.  Regarding security, there is one part of it that would not fall under the screecher's, The Unseen. That would be a special division reporting in to Yaz, however reports would be made available on a regular basis to the Board, i.e. us, and the division leaders. Does that make sense? As it stands there is a unknown agent running things while I'm away. I believe that is what Yaz is doing while I've been on travel. I'm back next week... woohoo.
if that the case, we need your unseen to finger any one that keeping eyes on us. We know that Alex Styrigia has guys fingering us in order to kill us. I like to take out his eyes and then put eyes on him..
I'll talk to Scott before next Thursday and see if we can do a side session on this. We can make Alex a target and do as you say. If we can't take out his eyes, we need to get mutual destruction in place for a cease fire at least.

Recent events: You've become important enough lately in the news that you aren't vulnerable to simple assassins anymore.  If you were, enough fingers would point at him that he knows better.  Plus, you haven't directly opposed Alex in a while.  It seems like he has other fish to fry.  On the other hand, if there were assassins, it might be from his opponents trying to incriminate him falsely. Group: I still need to figure out the name of Rodworth's relative. I know it's in a story that he wrote a while ago, but there are so many logs now, and my time is limited...  I thought I had it written down.  If someone knows the answer, please chime in.  Otherwise, it's going to end up being the "other" brother. Carlos: I can already say that the answer will be "no side sessions."  I hardly have time and energy to keep the current game running, plus any action should involve the whole group.  If you want to do any action outside of the game, the blue-book option is the best possibility, and has been used before to good effect. XP from two sessions (again): +2 logs +1 art +10 major goal (explore the newly proposed routes in the Xagyg dust clouds) New total: 324 + 13 = 337 xp

"On our way out of the system we receive a call from a Cargo ship, on board is Rodworth brother Barnes , responding to Challenge for one on one combat to decide leadership of Shimout clan." If that's not set in stone, I'd vote Radu (Vlad Tepes' younger brother who is adopted by the Grand Turk and turns on him)
