LFGM Fate Core - TBD EDT

Hi everyone,  I'm looking for a GM who might want to guide a group of rpg newbies through a Fate Core one-shot (or more if it works out), preferably Morts or The Secrets of Cats but we can discuss what specific game further later. I'm really interested in the Fate systems and I have the Core and FAE rulebooks as well as some of the adventure books but I'd like to have someone more familiar with the system help me to learn it and introduce it to a few friends.  Any players looking for a Fate Core game are welcome to join me, we'll prob need additional players. If nothing else we can create a forum, discuss the game and stumble through the rules together. Maybe a play by post game is in our future? The times of the game will have to be thoroughly discussed so that it's good for everyone. So let me know what might be good times for us to talk in your messages.
bump
Not many fate players and even less Gm's I guess. I'll bump this once more. Really wanna get into Fate Core and would really prefer one shots.
Yah doesn't seem to be a lot of fate players as there are D&D players around, looking for a game too
What are Morts and Secret of Cats?

Theiy're Fate Core adventures released by Evil Hat Productions.  They're both pay what you want through DriveThruRPG and they look really fun. Morts is about morticians in a post zombie society they're zombie slayers who get little to no respect for the work they do standing in between the living and the weird variety of undead things slipping through into their world abominations, ghosts, Kimmies, the necromancers that have too close of a relationship with dead things, not all of them are bad though and some of them actually become Morts. Secrets of Cats is basically about the magical world of cats protecting their humans (Burdens) from the supernatural, fighting for territory, and all the things cats do that humans don't understand like sacrificing small animals for power, being ridiculously charming, slipping between worlds etc..
Well if you find a GM I'd probably be up for playing either of those. Thanks!

Hmm... While I technically haven't GM'ed Fate Core before, I have GM'ed a few of the 3rd edition games before as well as Fate Accelerated previously so I may be able to at least help out.  Depending on the desired parameters for the game involved, I could theoretically run a one-shot scenario of something like Secrets of Cats over 2-3 sessions, though my schedule is not the easiest to work around.  Worst case I could passively support your suggested play by post Fate game, though I don't suggest it as Fate works better at a faster pace than that allows.
If anyone is looking for a fate group and some low commitment one shots we've put together a small group of a few people interested in fate. We have a few Gms and players from experienced to brand new. The games we do probably won't be a campaign, we're looking more at easily workable one shots to test out a few of the fate adventures released by evil hat using both Fate Core and FAE depending on which the Gm wants to use. Just comment on this forum or send me a pm and we'll get the info to you. Thanks. P.S. This Friday August 12th we're hoping to start by doing a one shot for Eagle Eyes starting around 9 to 9:30 EDT. We're still in the planning stages so if you want to jump in now's the time.

I'm really interested in Fate but it seems that we're few and far between.  I have a few one shots under my belt but I'm pretty familiar with the rules and, let's be honest, Fate is very flexible with making things up on the fly.  My schedule is always changing so it's hard to do any type of long term campaign but I've been looking for some players who would be interested in joining me for a series of one shots. I'm willing to play or GM.

We have a few Gms and players from experienced to brand new. Hi there, Rakaro! I am a very experienced FATE Core GM. My FATE GMing successes include a 6 month Sci-fi campaign, a 10 month FATE Achtung Cthulhu campaign, and a 15+ month Alternative Earth campaign. All of them are/were homebrew adventures with different groups of players. Two of them were started using the Spark In Fate Core collaborative world-building system. I am interested in learning more about your group. Does your group only meet on Fridays? Why FATE? Please PM your reply. Cheers!
Hello Rakaro! I have a FATE one shot that I ran some friends through a while back. I created the one shot after running a game of Diaspora for several months. My game group is very good at creating characters, and they took to the creative worldbuilding well. Eventually the timeslot for the game stopped working and we didn't have a suitable alternative. The one thing I always felt we were lacking was a good FATE point economy. I then decided I would create a game that was pretty much ONLY about moving the fate points around.  Basically I took the action movie concept of the game Feng Shui and transported it to FATE, creating a sequel to the movie "Big Trouble in Little China" using pregen characters (there were a few blanks in the sheet for players to do a bit of customization). The whole idea was to explore the FATE point economy by focusing on ONE thing - Action.  Just about every skill in the game is an action skill.  One of the aspects of each character is a "Catch Phrase"  like 'Nowadays the Cool thing is..." or "At a time Like This".. I ran it and thought it played well, and it certainly had the FATE points moving around the table more rapidly than in our Diaspora game. I still have game in roll20 with the characters so I would be available to run it again if it sounds like something you would be interested in. Michael
