I just came across this game and thought it was rather interesting. In microscope players go about creating a world and it's history by taking turns adding eras, events and scenes based around a world idea and then focusing on a specific person, thing, theme, or event for a turn of play.During certain parts of the game a question is asked and the players role play out what happens to get the answer. There are no dice or game master but the structure of the game means it's not a free for all either. There are some interesting rules involved such as when a player is creating an event others can not suggest things but can ask for clarification on something. So if some one says Atlatis rises others can ask if that means physically or just its rise to power but are not allowed to suggest how it does so. Then on the next persons turn then could go into more detail about it or even say Atlantis gets nuked. This doesn't mean you can't talk about Atlantis anymore just that at some point it gets nuked. Then the next player could skip back to before that and make something or even some thing between Atlantis rising and getting nuked. There is no rule that says it has to be in chronological order or that some one can't go into more detail as to what happened to Atlantis during the rise or nuking. This is the kind of game where you can practice your quick thinking , Improve and general "running with it" skills.
