Character sheets edit

Hi guys, i've a very simple question: when i, as GM, assign a character sheet to a player, he's able to see the "attributes and abilities" and edit them. That way, he could easily modify his stats (i hope he will not, but i can't be sure). Otherwise, if i only allow a player to see the sheet in his journal, he will not see the attributes, but only the "bio & info" field. Doing that, a player can't use the macros he find (and that's pretty serious for me) in his sheet, can't see his HP, and so on. So the question is: there's a way to allow the players to see the attributes and abilities of a character but, at the same time, not allowing him to edit them? If there's not, i'm going to allow the players to edit the abilities, but i'll also keep a paper-based sheet to give a look at during the game. Sounds reasonable? Thanks in advance to everyone :)

No, there is no way to allow the players to see the attributes and abilities without editing them. Instead of keeping a paper based sheet, you could make note of any GM stuff in the GM section of the character sheet. Out of curiosity, at the kitchen game table, what have you done to make sure the players are not altering the stats on their paper sheets? This really isn't any different. :) - Gauss
Thanks for the reply Gauss! It's a great idea to keep the records in the GM notes, i'm going to do so! You're right, there's no way to avoid any cheat, and it's not really different from a kitchen game...but i was afraid that playes could edit sheets for error, 'cause my players are very new to Roll20 :)

Krom, what game system are you playing? If you want me to come look at your character sheet setup I may be able to give you ideas on how to prevent players needing to alter (most) attributes. - Gauss
I'm setting up a Call of Cthulhu campaing, later it will become a Stormbringer one (they've got the same rules). It's a very old campaign that my group and me was playing before a lot of us had to move out from our countries. I'm also going to move to Mentor, 'cause i'm really liking Roll20 :) I'll be very grateful, Gauss! I'm going to invite you, let me know what kind of permissions do you need!
