HEX Grids

I'm not sure if this is a bug report for sure, but I notice when I set the campaign map grids from squares to HEX (both Vertical and Horizontal) the program lags to the point that is slightly prohibitive. I prefer to use HEX grids for my campaigns. Thank you for your time and attention.

Could you start by heading to <a href="http://supportdetails.com/" rel="nofollow">http://supportdetails.com/</a> and giving us your specs (except your IP address). Also, when this occurs please open your java browser, ctrl+shift+j (chrome) or ctrl+shift+k (firefox), and post any error messages you see. - Gauss
Windows 7 Firefox 17.0 Javascript enabled Cookies enabled Screen Resolution 1680 x 1050 Browser Size 1680 x 889 Color Depth 24 bit Flash Version 11.5.502 And no error message Thank you.

Does refreshing the browser help the lag? Also, what is the name of your campaign? - Gauss
I have tried refreshing, but that does not resolve the issue. I have two campaigns. One is Farms and the other is Two Bridges. I haven't gotten very far in the campaign creation because the campaigns are based on an game system that uses hex grids. But there are some maps on each. Thank you for your time and attention by the way. I appreciate it. -Tallow
Hey Tallow, I took a look at both of those campaigns, didn't see anything out of the ordinary that would be causing lots of lag. I will say that hex grids are quite a bit more expensive to draw than a square grid (takes about 6x as many draw calls for a hex cell as a square cell). That being said, it didn't lag for me on my computer at all. You might try Chrome, it has a faster rendering engine than Firefox. Sorry we can't be of more assistance :-( - RD
Thank you. I appreciate you looking into this and your time. I will look into chrome and see if that helps. One last observation. I have the Hexes set to HEX (H), which I am assuming is for horizontal but the hexes are stacked vertically. So I think on Page Settings, the Hex grids may be reversed. It probably has no impact on the functionality but it may add to some confusion. Thank you again for looking into this for me I appreciate your time. -Tallow
