Stepping through the Zaug's portal, Lor finds himself in a massive, living jungle. His companions lie unconscious all around him; even Elaryan, cut off from the moon's influence, has returned to human form and fallen. Using magic and skill, Lor manages to wake Elaryan, Eovan, and Arthas... then summons his portable keep so that the party can catch a much needed nights' rest. In the morning, the heroes are confronted by two derhii scouts, who insist that the party visit their leader, King Ruthazek. The derhii lead the party deeper into the jungle, to a thriving community of fiendish apes and monkeys that serve the Demon Lord Angazhan. The gorilla king reveals more details about the companions' situation: they have been gated to a region where Angazhan's relam, Ahvoth-Kor, meets that of his brother, Abraxas. Abraxas is another Demon Lord, one worshipped by evil sorcerers, drow, and serpentfolk. Abraxas, Angazhan, and Baphomet have long been rivals... but now Abraxas seeks to upset the balance of power by raising the spirit of an ancient god named Ydersius. The serpentfolk in his realm have secured Ydersius's skull and plan on performing the necessary rite to return him to life. To combat this threat, Baphomet and Angazhan have agreed to a truce, but their minions are not powerful enough to defeat those of Abraxas, for they lose much of their power once the cross into Abraxas's realm, Pelroma. What King Ruthazek requires of the heroes is simple: they must pass into Pelroma, sneak into the Fortress of a Thousand Fangs, steal the Skull of Ydersius, and return it to the Angazhani. To aid them in this quest, Ruthazek will allow them to debase themselves at Angazhan's totem, a powerful artifact. The party agrees to the mission, though only Elaryan and Eovan consent to be debased. The heroes travel for many hours before reaching the edge of Ahvoth-Kor. In the distance, they can see the Fortress of a Thousand Fangs, a serpentine tower in the middle of a giant lake. Their derhii guide takes his leave at the border, at which point the heroes can finally discuss honestly whether they actually want to continue this quest. Arthas and Lor are quite certain they do not, though Elaryan and Eovan seem eager to continue. Desperate to find a way out of this predicament, Lor prays to Daimu for guidance. The halfing's prayers are answered, as a nearby tree takes sentient form an approaches the party! This is Yrgg Treefather, one of Daimu's trusted servants. Lor asks the Treefather for help leaving this realm. Yrgg cannot rescue the party directly, but he senses that a nearby ravine is actually a portal to the Gluttondark, realm of Zevgavizeb, and that the nearby waterfalls pour forth from Dagon's realm, Ishiar. Neither of those realms is necessarily better than the one the party is in now, but the Gluttondark is a land of many portals, one which might lead back to the Prime Material. In the interim, Yrgg promises to return to Daimu and seek a more direct route home. Everyone who played gains 2200 XP
