The Arrival of Pyrrha on the Mystbound Ship

1469145284

Edited 1469145350
RP- 22 nd of Plenth           The town of Haven is now before the Venerable Terry as the ship pulls in to the dock. Water splashed onto sides and a strange feeling of freedom settles in Pyrrha's heart as she looks over the docks area of her new home. The sailors secure the ship to the side of the dock, rope is thrown out and tied to the dock as boards drop down to create a ramp. The dockworker look surprised to see a ship arriving this time of year as the mist tide had already closed and it was too soon for a ship to arrive by taking the long way.           Pyrrha follows her fellow travelers as they make their way off the boat. She looks around at her strange surroundings, glad to be on terra firma once more. She smiles happily as she hears the captain call out to the group, "See the harbourmaster about your fee for the repairs. I still don't know where ya found that thing but it saved us a lot of time."           Pyrrha chuckles at the captain. "I told you before from a friendly Lich." The captain still didn't believe the story about how they had received aid to repair the ship when the badly damaged ship got beached on a small island.                                                                                                                                                           "Right well either way, thanks for the help." He replies heading back to his work.                                                                                                                                   Pyrrha nods as she and the rest of the group heads for the harbourmaster for their payment. Afterwards she watches as Elenora, Dox, Dark Salazar & Eryn disappear into the city.           "Well I made it this far," she thinks to herself. "What now?"           Pyrrha glances nervously at the area around the docks unnerved by the melting pot of races that frequent Haven and the lack of red hair in the area. Realizing that she is still very perceptible in a crowd Pyrrha looks for a safe place to gain her bearings. She had heard that the White Horse Adventuring Company was THE place to do research in the city. As she wanders the streets trying to be as unnoticeable as possible she thinks back to her training to see if there was other repositories of Arcane Knowledge in the city that was outside the control of a company.           A sign reading The Tipsy Mermaid catches her eye. “Well at least this looks like I can get some information about the city here.” She mutters to herself as she opens the door. The smell of ale fills the air as she steps inside which causes her to wrinkle her nose for a second. Pyrrha still hadn't got used the the stench of a tavern which was much more pronounced then the research labs & libraries that she was used to. She heads to the barkeep to see about paying for a room for the night and to find out about Haven.           “Um, Good Day um sir, I would like to stay the night at your ah-illustrious place. Also I am new to the city, is there any Arcane guilds or companies that you can suggest?”

Pyrrha rocks back on her heels as she sees the largest man she has ever beheld squashed behind the bar. He holds out a huge hand and welcomes her to the Home of the Blue Sashes. But I am afraid the only libary open to common folk is that of thre White Horses. Staying here is free if you intend to join a Company; even if it is not ours. That is Imperial Law and we are well paid for it.
a charcoal black  tiefling in the corner chuckles and walks over. hes wearing rather nice clothes and walks around useing a gleming silvery warhammer as a walking cane. Adolfo you must get some joy in scaring the newbies don't you -he sits down next to you at the bar with a big smile and ruffly pats you on the back, he goes to shake your hand-
Pyrrha stares a huge man for a moment, then seems to remember some form of manners and extends her hand to shake the his hand just as the teifling heads over. She blushes a bit embarrassed as he pats her back. She is wearing regular clothing if a little skimpy with very long bright red hair tied into ponytail. Her blush starts to match the color of her hair. She is tall for an elf standing the same height as the teifling. She turns to him and notices his eyes. "That's makes 3 of us with red eyes. Oh sorry I should introduce myself. I um am Pyrrha. Pyrrha Hleghymn. Please to meet you adolfo was it? And um." She pauses trying to remember the teifling's name. "I'm sorry who are you?" She nervously shifts her pack and staff as she takes the teifling's hand.

-he shakes your hand-Von T. Teafling, it's a pleasure to meet you. oh and by the by there is only one library but if you score the ruined building in the town you might find a couple of books if i had to guess, could be wrong though. there are a number of ruined buildings i belive some use to be shops some may have sold books or some may have bin left in ruend houses

"is there any ruined houses that have not been ransacked already by the mass of people I saw outside?" Pyrrha inquires suddenly more interested in the thought of getting more knowledge then worrying about her nerves. "Actually it would be a great help if I could find someone to help me work out some theories I read from a friendly Lich's tower. Our esteemed party leader, would only give me an hour to read." She rolls her eyes esteemed part. Seeing the surprise on Von's face she inquires, "Why does no one beleive me?"
he looks at you blankley- do you mean a leach like thoes thing that latch onto you and suck your blood? and as for the buildings id most have bin checked but if you dig around you might find something cant say what shaped it would be in, i think i found some bits and bobs when i was rebuilding my place cant rember what off the top of my head. i think there was something in the basement
"Um you mean a leech? No a Lich as in undead mage of considerable power. He had a fascinating library, if only I had more time to peruse it." She looks a little sad for a moment as she recalls the theories expressed. "Does it cost much to rebuild a place?" She asks turning back to Von.
huh relley we run int oa lot of undead around here and it depends on what company you're with and how long you've been with them. it dident cost me much, took me about a month to rebuild the dame thing i plan on expanding into a nearby building.
"Interesting though magic doesn't seem to work that well here." She looks over her sudden companion. "That is a nice um, hammer. Did you do the work yourself?"

yah there's no magic field here. ahh i did some of the carvings my mentor did some befor me and his befor him, as for the magic i but it on this alter and it was enchanted i'm not sure but i think it was enchanted by raos not sure though there wore a few more items that also got enchanted but i don't know who has them or were they whent i think one might be on the bottom of the sea
"The bottom of the sea? What a loss. Wait an altar that enchants weapons? and who is Raos?" Pyrrha asks confused.

"Interesting, so your hammer now has divine power?" She inquired with renewed interest. "I have heard that it was possible to weave the magical layer into an item but not in such a way where..." (Several of the words were in Draconic and another in Tarnellion) she pauses noting Von's confusion. "I'm sorry I was getting off topic. Anyways I was thinking about signing up with the white horses as Adolpho? said that the white horses had the library in town. And I have heard about them by reputation." She comments embaressed, "I'm not to familiar with the rest of the companies to be honest."
ahhh not really devine well not that i know of any way its more so when i hit some one just right a crack of thunder shoots through them and ecos around me, i haven't done it that many times but the few times i have it's been incredabull. the white horses are a fine company i gess. i don't deal with them verey often, i know there verey much into knowledge and magic items. they work with the empire a lot so there's that i gess. personally i don't know much about them. personally im with the blue sashes and i really like it here there a good company they don't discriminate and there reliable in a pinch. i may be a bit bias but if i was gonna sagest a company id suggest this one.
"That's a nice opinion and i can tell you like your company," She sighs. "but I would need regular access to a library to be as effective as possible as an adventurer, and being the white horses seem to have the only one available, it does limit my options." She replies. "As dangerous as that might be." She quietly mutters the last part to herself in tarnellion.

Finding stuff in ruined buildings; you mean books? No chance; they are very valuable and would have been sold off ages ago by the first arrivals. That or else they'd be completed destroyed very easily as they are made of paper and would rot. In addition, the types of books Pyrrah requires are so rare that finding one is very unlikely.

But; there are other libraries in Haven! They are just not public ones...................
you don't think someone might have something in a chest in there basement that might not have bin found because the house is in absolute runes. would von have known about any one who has a privet librey
well Pyrrha there might be some one with a privet librey off the top of my head i dont know any one

"As I said before you seem like good people, but um I don't think you have what I need for my studies. Right!" She turns back to Adolpho. "Could I get a hot meal before I head out?" Pyrrha turns back to Von. "Could you be so kind as to direct me to the White Horses?" She says with a smirk.
-he seems to be thinking, like hes searching for a thought or looking through something- yah iv got some time to kill i can show you were to go
Pyrrha eats her meal and orders a second to go, verifies the contents of her pack and picks up her staff. "Thanks for the escort, but you don't need to go out of your way." She comments to Von then turns to Adolpho "Thanks for the meal and information." (-1gp?) She gets ready to head out.
-von gives you directions and then goes back to the teaflings horn -
Pyrrha follows Von's directions, marveling at the city as she heads to the White Horses. Eventually she finds herself in front of the White Horse Company and mutters to herself in tarnellion. "Well here goes nothing she thinks to herself as she opens the door." She feels at home in the building relaxing as she gives a wave to anyone looking at her after she enters. "Keep alert!" she reminds herself.

Justine said: marveling at the city Haven's streets are crowded with the indigant, while cut purses and worse still lurk in narrow alleys between broken buildings, many of which even still lack roofs. The White Horse Inn is on the southern tip of the island, a long walk from the Tipsy mermaid, though in the south things are not quite so bad around the area known as the fish market. A man in old fashioned clothes and a strange lilting accent greetgs Pyrhha as she passes. To Pyrhha he sounds like a glarnic speaker, but his particular twang is not something she has encountered before. The man tips his hat and tells her to seek Chanter's Hall to hear of the great song and to seek aid if she needs it, pointing to a large building to the west just along Penny Street that looks freshly renovated. He then waves to a small group of armoured men passing through the market from the east, they bear a tabbard with a bright red dragon and he goes over to chat amiably with one of them. Continuing south, shortly before Pyrhha at least reaches her destination a thrill of power zips along her spine, trained arcane senses detecitng the presense of a low level aura here on the southern tip, no wonder then a company of mages would locate their chapter house here.
