Grid Coordinates (squares)

I'm intending to try out roll20 for PbP games, where players aren't online at the same time. We post our turns in a forum and use the map for placement etc in combat. Usually we indicate how PCs' movements take place, in case there are AoOs taken etc. For this to be reflected, grid coordinates would be really useful, since then we can reference which square we started in and ended up in (and even which squares were walked through, if need be). Would it be possible to add X and Y coordinates at the top and side of the map? I don't think it should be too difficult, but I'm not sure how the app was coded.

I have a couple of possible workarounds for you: 1) Place your own labels along the top and sides of the map. You can do this as either tokens (you can create them using MS Paint or other paint program) or as Text (art tool). 2) Use the art tool to draw the path a player moved, perhaps mark an X where they started. 3) Use a token to indicate starting point. An arrow would work nicely. Hope this helps. - Gauss
Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't think about using the Text tool to do so. Using a token to indicate starting point might cause confusion if another PC ends up in that square though. cheers, - Parody

Parody, you can color the start point tokens to match each player. Either by coloring the token itself (in an art program such as MS Paint) or by tinting the token in the token settings menu. I seem to remember another user making an arrow token as an indicator token. I found the link for you: http://community.roll20.net/discussion/3409/pointer-target-tokens-for-roll-20-download-link-included/p1 - Gauss
