Looking to hire DM

Please contact me at ahunterhunting1@gmail.com. This would be a group of 4 players. We would want you to run 5e content that is the official Wizards of the Coast content available. If we enjoy that we might spring for custom content later. Most important thing is that you are a good DM and you accommodate our schedule. One of our guys is a great DM but just does not have the time to prep. We are all in the late 30s-40 range and geographically diverse. All CST though. So, what we really need is someone that can play when we want to play over a web format with all the bells and whistles. Contact me with your desired fee and setup. Thanks, Hunter
I should mention that this same group of guys has played together since high school. So, we are a well-seasoned group though pretty new to 5e. But, we have know each other and played together for 20+ years.
Is it a regular schedule, or are you looking at shifting times for every session? Also, are you trying to fit all the random UA errata into the game or would it just be the official books? Also, can you provide more solid parameters for what your group considers to be "good"? I've had people say i'm the best, and i've had people leave after an hour saying i'm the worst. It all depends on the group. What specifically are you looking for?
Billy, We would be looking for a regular schedule. Likely every other week on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night between 8:00 CST and whenever we wind up. I don't think all the errata. Maybe just PH and EE. As far as what we consider "good." Does not permit power gaming. Rewards Role Playing. Ahderes closely to the spirit of the rules without worrying about the minutia too much. Funny. Good voices for NPCs, monstors. Makes use of all the bells and whistles in Roll20 to speed game play. Thanks, Hunter
Do you guys have a power-gamer in your group? For some people that is what's fun about the game, finding all the tricks in the system. I'm wary about just negating someone's reason for playing with a blanket rule like that. But there's always a balance. Might not be able to pull it off every time, but there always is a balance! What i like, and what i focus on is more exploration than anything. And likewise, what i try to reward is good ideas. Especially when those ideas add to the world. So it's more a sliding scale of awesomeness, than exactly what your character would do in every situation. Not closely following the rules goes both ways, unfortunately. So while i don't like tracking the weight of every last thing and it only takes one death-save to recover while it still takes three to die, there are certain rules that just overbalance the game in the player's favor that i don't use. (Druids taking less than a second to transform, and being able to declare non-lethal damage after you've already killed an enemy both come to mind.) I amuse myself. Sometimes other people laugh, sometimes they go out of their way to tell me i'm not funny. Either way, there are jokes constantly. This one's tricky because it depends on the group. If the group has voices for their characters, odds are the npc's and monsters will too. Otherwise i default to trying for vivid descriptions. If you're looking for speed, your best bet is to actually avoid a lot of the bells and whistles. The API is capable of some genuinely impressive stuff. But from experience i can say that a lot of the scripts attempt to emulate video game functions, and you're better off ignoring most of it. Even maps can be a big slowdown. So unless your group never deviates from the story (which would be exceedingly dull), then you're likely to spend quite a bit of time looking at "mood pictures" and drawing basic shapes instead of full-fledged maps. Oh! And last question: When you say you want to use Elemental Evil, are you talking about the online pdf (with the broken Aaracokra in it) or the actual book?
It looks like we are settling on Tuesday nights between 8:00 and 12:00 CST. I just meant the spells from EE really.
Well you guys are on one of the two days i'm actually busy around that time. So good luck!

Hunter, What I would like to know more about is roleplay. I don't care about power-gaming (either way it doesn't bother me). Chemistry. Sounds like you guys have a good history, but are you guys comfortable at the table? Will you "go for it" when playing your characters (voices, gestures, etc)? Also, how do you feel about streaming? - Cody
