[LFG] Savage Worlds Rifts

Hello! As the post says, I'm wondering if any GMs or groups out there are currently running the new Savage Rifts campaign setting that has been recently released. I'm actively looking for a group and have the books.

I've been very impressed with the Tomorrow Legions guide. I'd love to get into a game, but odds are pretty high against it. My schedule is pretty full. If someone pops up running this and it happens to be on a Thursday evening, I'd love to join in. If not, well, hope you find something awesome. :)
I would also be interested in playing if a game sprung up tuesday or thursday evening (PST)... I have the players guide and like what I see in it!
Just need to find someone willing to GM the game.
Is Savage Rifts a good setting? I'm usually a Savage Worlds GM so I've had my share of settings.

Rifts is one of the oldest tabletop RPG settings and has an extremely rich lore and unique setting. Rifts has always been a fascinating and amazing setting, though it was hampered quite a bit by the Palladium system. The Savage Worlds version doesn't suffer that issue as the rules have been brought in line with the SW system and are far more streamlined. Savage Rifts is quite unique as it front loads the characters with a ton of power so that they can represent the iconic "occupations" of the setting and because the setting is incredibly dangerous. Virtually any type of threat and creature exists in this setting. You could be fighting orcs and goblins for breakfast, dragons for lunch, and mecha tanks for dinner with a cabal of vampire mages riding t-rexes backed up by zombie soldiers with laser rifles for a late midnight snack (I kid you not, it does exist in Rfits). This is one of the options for a starting hero. That above represents the Glitter Boy iconic framework, a character option based around giving the player the most powerful suit of armor ever devised by man. A suit of power armor with a heroic lineage of over 300 years and has defended humanity through its darkest times with not only the strongest defenses of any weapon system both past and present, its also backed up by an enormous rail gun designed to obliterate any target. Rifts can afford to do this for even a starting character because the setting is incredibly dangerous and designed to make the heroes truly feel larger than life.
Wow. That's cool though I dont think I'll be able to GM that kind of game. I like structured and predictable (up to a point) lore. Meshing Fantasy and Scifi is one thing, but taking on t-rex riding vampires using a 300 year old iron man suit seems just way too... i dunno. Plus with the lore that Rift has, that's gonna be a big issue coz I love lore and to play a setting according to it's lore is what I do as a GM. If I can't pickup the lore, well I can't pick up the game so I'll be a lousy GM.
Rifts has a lot of setting material, but you can focus on the parts you want to play and ignore the rest. Rifts just provides you with the opportunities and options for going that route if you want. I admit that I gave an overly exaggerated example with the vampires riding t-rexes. If you want to talk about it over skype, I can discuss the setting a bit more and the rules surrounding it. Just PM your skype information.
I played lots of Rifts back in the day, was excited to see the conversion. I would be interested in a game, maybe even GM if needed. Though beyond reading the Savage Worlds core book I have no experience running the rule set.

If you guys send me PM with your skype info, I can sit down with ya and explain the rules for SW as I have a lot of experience with the ruleset.
Depending on the time for this, I'd be willing to take a crack at it as well. Huge savage worlds fan. I normally GM it, but I'd much rather be a player for something like Rifts.
If anyone has any questions about the setting or would like to GM or play but need to know more about the SW rule set, I'd be happy to sit down with you and explain and run through the rules. Just send me a PM with your skype information or the best way of contacting you for a call.
