Large Images Distort

I have found that often when I use a large image for a map it gets all distorted like this when I zoom out. It looks fine if I zoom in close though, so I can still use it. This doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough that I decided to report the issue. The only way to repeat the error would be to use a very large image for a map. I'm on a mac (10.6.8) with Chrome (Version 49.0.2623.112)

I experienced very similar graphical issues using an early-2008 Macbook running same OS (Snow Leopard). Unfortunately, I was not able to resolve them. If you'd like to give it a shot, I would recommend starting by working through the four steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues .

I'm curious if you know the pixel-size (width / height) of the images that you uploaded that qualify for this. I've only had similar problems when the image was over 7000x7000 pixels or so. After noticing that, I have kept my images up to a max of around 5500x5500, and sliced the image into large tiles to upload and reassemble when it was larger than this. For example I sliced a 12000x8000 into 4 tiles, after that it worked at all zooms.
