Looking for players for Numenera campaign, +1 GMT; starting date to be agreed by everyone involved

Hi everyone. I am looking to start a Numenera campaign. Let me explain who am I and what kind of players I am looking for. Also about the campaign. About me: - I have about 15 years of roleplaying experience, mostly as GM. I only got a bit of experience running Numenera and I am still learning it. I never ran any session over internet and my only experience with roll20 is what I been tinkering so far. - I have mostly run different versions of D&D (and other d20 fantasy systems) but also have some experience with old and new WoD, d20 Modern, Star Wars Saga Edition and some home made systems (not my own) based on d6. - I am not a native English speaker but my command of English is good and I have spent 1 year living in Northern Ireland a few years ago. My skill in speaking English is a bit rusty by now but nothing that will not come back to me after a few sessions. The bigger problem is.. - I have only ever run one session in English. I have no clue how good of a GM I will be when running sessions in English although I am sure I will improve in time - I live at +1 GMT timezone and sessions will mostly be run during evenings in my timezone. - I can run any kind of campaign and anything goes as long as nobody is offended and it is all in good fun for EVERYONE in the group (READ: I don't like players that backstab other players). I don't like to run combat heavy campaigns or spending more time with numbers then playing the game (it is why I now prefer Numenera over other systems) - I consider myself a fair GM that does not use this hobby to feed my Ego (you can tell I had the "pleasure" to play under Ego feeding GMs) but to tell an interactive story together with the players What I expect from players: - decent command of English and an ability to speak in a way that others will understand you. I know some people have a strong accents and I expect those to not be annoyed when others repeatedly ask them to repeat what they said but more slowly :) - I don't care if you got previous experience with Numenera or other systems, just that you are enthusiastic about playing and roleplaying. I prefer players that will not do this: be quiet for long times and just roll a few (virtual) dice. - being able to play in evenings once every 1 or 2 weeks, either during weekdays or weekends depending on mutual agreement between everyone, probably between 7 PM (19:00) and 11 PM (23:00) my time (also it will be possible to start earlier on weekends). - I will prefer that at least one player is native English speaker so we as a group can progress faster in our communication, also I would prefer at least one person has some experience with Roll20 so I can learn it faster :) (none of these are prerequisites) - at first the campaign will be webcam optional but eventually it will be webcam required - once I get one and we have a stable group of people that get along well. I strongly feel the quality of sessions is much lower if we leave out body language from roleplaying. - If any of the players has experience with streaming to Twitch they would be welcome to do so, there are only D&D related RP streams there at the moment with extremely rare Star Wars or Shadowrun stream About the campaign: - I would like it to start some time next week, of course if I find enough suitable players. - I will be GMing story of my own creation but I am sure to borrow parts of published adventures here and there if I find them to fit. I have been creating my own stories to GM for whole of my 15 years of experience. - I have already spent a fair amount of time preparing to GM it as close as possible if we were around the table (I have XP deck and Cypher deck ready) About signing up for campaign: - sign up in this topic with as much or little info as you like and expect that I will be wanting to talk to you directly before approval\first session - If I get many people that want to play I will need to do a selection, so don't be mad if you are not chosen. I will not be selecting people by first come, first serve just like I would not in real life. - But if I promise you something, I will keep the promise.
Hey Torin, I am not a native english speaker, but I have quite experience in tabletop ( I think it is smt like 17+ years), I am in GMT+2. I wont play in the weekend, but in the week days. I want to try Numunera, too, I read the core book ( not the rules, but the campaign). If you are interested, send me a PM.
I would like to play as well. I am a native English speaker and I have used roll20 before although never as a GM. Weekdays are also best for me. I have the core rule book but am only about 1/2 way through.
Extensive knowledge of rules is not important, rules themselves are simple enough. You will only need to create your own character in advance so we don't waste time on the session (only cyphers are going to be chosen at start of session). I will contact two of you through PM some time in next few days. Since so far nobody but me can play during weekends, I would like to target next Friday (11.10) as date of first session, maybe even play a bit longer then.
I would love to play. I'm not a native English speaker but I do work and study in the UK. I do not have experience in playing RPGs in the past however the Numenera rules seem fairly accepting for newcomers. I always can play on Fridays and depending on my shifts at work some other days but weekends are fairly unlikely. I understand that I'm a risky choice since I have no experience with pen and paper RPGs. In the past I played mostly video games - usually the ones with strong narrative. Sadly I lived in small town where pen and paper RPGs were unheard-of. I heard about Numenera because of upcoming video game that uses Numenera setting - Torment: Tides of Numenera.
6:00 AM where I am, and last minute, but really want to be in campaign. I do not have time to read all through it but from just now I make all the requirements(I hope). I have a lot of enthusiasm but i must be quiet for the other people in this house hold.

If it was 6:00 AM there when you posted it would mean we are 13 hours of time difference. How could you possible play like that?! Also I set the date for the game next Friday, not today. And that date is not 100%, I needed to put some date so my campaign would show up in the listing. The real date will be when I have up to 4 players chosen and we agree on a date.
I could play everyday but never on friday-saturday-sunday evening.

I would like to join you game I am an experienced player (25yrs) and I live here in the states at GMT -5. I can play anytime and any day except on sat. I GM a game on that day. I just started reading about Numenera and I really like it and have already created a character for it. Santh is a clever Jack who explores dark places. I spent quite a bit of time to create this character.

Hi Torin! I am from Switzerland (so GMT+1 also, if I am well informed). If you would have me, I really would enjoy joining your game. I haven't played Numenera yet and, to be honest, it would be my first Tabletop gaming experience (virtual or otherwise). However, I would, of course, inform myself before the appointed time (Friday, the 11th, it stated). So, if you'll have me, count me in. I can always play in the evenings, especially during the weekends. Cheers.
I am hoping to have decided on players by end of Sunday. I have sent some PM and still awaiting responses and I will be sending PMs to other people as well either until end of today or some time during tomorrow morning. For now, Friday 11.10 at 7PM (+1 GMT) is the date of 1st session.
Hello Torin. I would like to join your campaign if you still have free spot. I live in Czech Republic (GMT+2 with DLST GMT+1 without). I am quite good at at English if I say so myself. I have played tabletop RPG before but it was a while ago. Numenera really caught my interest with its unique setting. I can be available any day after 6PM(GMT+1) regardless of DLST. Thanks for your consideration and have a nice day.
Hey there If the recrutation is still open I'd like to join here. I'm not a native English speaker, but I consider myself quite good at least in it (through I hear my accent is weird xD). I've been playing RPG's for about 8 years, mostly DnD 3rd, but lately I switched to nWoD. Also played a couple other systems, I don't really care about system too much I'll role-play as much as I can in these days. I'm total newb to Numenera, I only heard about it through the announcement of Torment 2. I looked up some info, but not much (will look it up more if I get here :D). Also my time-zone is GMT +1 (Poland), and I should be available at the times you mentioned almost everyday, unless something unusual is going on. So yeah, I hope we can make a good story there Torin. Cheers.
Hi Torin, Looks like you already have plenty of players but if there's still a spot left I'd really appreciate if I could join you guys. I'm new to Roll20 and Numenera and I'd really like to try both (not new to RPGs in general, been playing for about 20 years now, mostly D&D and Shadowrun). I only have the Numenera Players Guide right now. Will I need the core book? I will buy it anyway but I don't think I can manage to read much of it by Friday. I'm from Germany, so GMT+1, and weekdays 7PM would be great for me. Occasional weekend sessions could be arranged. No problems playing in English by the way.
I can't play on friday beacuse I have to play D&D 3.5 with my historical group. However I'm reading the corebook.
OK. I got all the players I needed so please do not apply anymore. Thank you to everyone that applied. It was tough to choose who I wanted to join in the campaign, there were so many people that were close in quality and it was hard to judge who would be better just by talking a bit with them. I will not forget the people who didn't get in this time, if I need more people in the future I will be contacting you. Best of luck to you in finding a group to play in. Torin
hey :) my name is marlon and i have recently started playing pathfinder , since dnd and pathfinder are fairly similar i think i will have few problems playing with this group , i am however still a beginner (ive payed 3 sessions) . i like playing magic classes (druid at the moment) however if it is more convenient i would also enjoy playing as a ranger or rogue . i consider myself a decent english speaker although i am german , im also fairly familiar with roll20 when it comes to ingame stuff although im not an expert (ive played only 3 8hr sessions) i dont really want to play on fridays since that is the day i mostly go out with friends , if possible id like to play on another weekday , if thats not possible i am sorry i cant play . thank you for reading
Hi Torin, I've been playing RPG for 13 years (mostly just playing) and I want so much to play Numenera. I am mastering a campaign on this setting and I found that fascinating. But I want to play =P About me: I am not a native English speaker. Most of my RPG experience is dedicated to D&D (AD&D, 3.X and Pathfinder editions), but my favorite game systems are GURPS (just playing) and Storyteller (mainly Werewolf: The Apocalypse). I have some experience with some other cool systems, like: Star Wars Saga (this one is fantastic), Mutants & Masterminds, a little bit of Shadowrun and Deadlands, and, as I mentioned before, Numenera. So, if you want to keep this campaign, I'm in!
