DarkThoughts said: I have only been working with Roll20 for 3 days now, give or take. I've
watched the Crash Course videos on YouTube and skimmed over the Wiki.
And now that I have started setting up my Savage Worlds Rifts campaign, I
have a few specific questions, at least to start with.
Savage Worlds Rifts sounds familiar... did I talk to you at GenCon?
Looking
at the dice macros I have set up for the players, I would like to
rearrange them to: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, MD4, MD6, MD8, etc. How
would I do that?
I'm guessing you have those dice setup as macros and have ticked on the "Show as Token Action" checkbox. Unfortunately, the order of Token Actions can't be guaranteed when mixing Abilities and Macros in the Token Action Bar. However, you can put them in the Macro Bar and they will always be accessible and ordered how you like. See: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros#Macro_Bar" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros#Macro_Bar</a>
Is there a way to hide the macro bar in a
fashion similar to the icons found on the Windows taskbar? Click it to
minimize the macros into a single icon and click it again to expand them
rather than having the bar "shown" or "hidden"?
There isn't any way to do that built into Roll20. However, you can setup a Javascript Bookmarklet in your browser to do this quite easily: javascript:$('#showmacrobar').click() Just put that in as a bookmark and add it to your quick bar. Any time you choose it, it will toggle the MacroBar on and off.
Is there a way
to snap the tokens to the grid? I know they can be resized but it would
be nice if they were automatically resized to match the appropriate grid
space. 1 square for humans, 2 squares for large creatures, 4 squares
for huge creatures, etc.
I'm assuming you mean having the size of a token "stick" for a character. So, if you have a human, they are a 1x1, if you have a giant that is 3x3, they are 3x3 every time you drag them into the table. If you size a token and then assign it as the Default Token on a character, it will be sized the same when you drag it back in. I have chosen a sound effect (Before the
Storm) to play when the campaign loads and have checked to ensure that I
had saved those changes but when I load the campaign on the start page,
the selection doesn't play. Any ideas why that might be?
Are you saying you've chosen it to play for a particular page using Play on Load or that you've just added it to the Jukebox ? Play on Load will take effect for each player that is on a given page. Adding to the Jukebox will just make it easily available, you'll need to start it playing when needed. (I'm unsure if it will continue to play the next time you load the Game if you had it playing the last time.)
Thanks
in advance for any advice, tips or tricks you may have to offer. I am
certain that more questions will arise as I dig deeper into the Roll20
features and really appreciate any help the community has to offer. Definitely ask whatever you like about using Roll20 or playing your chosen game on it! And certainly clarify whatever I've misunderstood above. =D
