D&D 5e - LFP - Sundays 7:30pm GMT - Princes of the Apocalypse

Hi there, I'm looking for one more mature player with a good and positive attitude towards roleplay. We have a great group of strong roleplayers who have gelled well and this is the first time we have had to replace a player.  This group has been together for a while and has competed Lost Mines prior to starting Princes. The game is a mixture of published content enhanced (imho ;D) by some home-brew content. Players are several sessions in and are at level 4. I can offer a game that has been very well received by our current players. With top quality maps and tokens, which combined with a great deal of preparation lends itself to an immersive game in spite of the DM's terrible attempt at accents!  The PC dynamics are great and we have a good game where the players get involved with the narrative as well as the DM.  Attendance to the game is important. I understand if things come up, but often, you missing the game means we all miss the game. Missing without letting anyone know that you're going to ahead of time is not very polite (though sometimes this can be unavoidable). I'd ask that players only apply if they believe they can make 90% or more of the games, and that they would try to let us know if they can't make it. Also, it's important that players be able to stay for the whole session. It's been my experience that if one player leaves with about half an hour or an hour left, the group decides to call it for the day. If something will cut your time short on a particular day, please let us know ahead of time, if possible. Sessions will be on Sunday’s starting at 7:30PM GMT and should last 3.5 hours, with at least one 5 minute break (we can take more or longer breaks, if requested). I really want to make my games about the role you play rather than the rules , and whilst I am very familiar with the rules, I prefer a good explanation and effort to act out a situation to a simple request to roll dice. I find this generates the most fulfilling experience and my game will be a place where new or shy players will be accommodated and encouraged. As such I do not allow overly aggressive interparty interaction or PvP in my games. If a player causes disruption or acts in any way that diminishes the enjoyment of the other players, then that player will be warned or removed from the game as appropriate. We'll be using Skype for voice chat, and a good microphone, with little background noise is required. Background noise can be pretty distracting to the DM and the other players, and a poor microphone makes it hard to understand what's being said. I'd like to chat with players before we start, to make sure the microphone sounds fine. The players will need to be able to and have to have motivation to work towards a common goal. Whilst Zalton the Chaotic Evil warrior god might be a cool concept, he is unlikely to play nice with the other PCs (not to mention NPCs)! This may all seem like a lot of requirements, but I want to ensure you fit well into the current group so we can all have a good time. The great time we have has ensured that we have consistent attendance and have managed to keep the group to 5 players, I would ideally like to keep it what way. If you are interested, please PM me some info about you (including name, age & location), how you ideally like to RP and what you are looking for in a game.  There is no need to have a character already prepared but feel free to include character details if you have one in mind. I'm also supposed to note that my game has mature content within.  This is both due to a level of immersion I wish to maintain in terms gore and violence as well as the language - because we all know secretly that swearing is big and cool. Thanks for reading!
My name is Eric. I am 31 and live in Illinois. I am a cyber security analyst by day, and a gamer by night. I'm pretty proficient with 5E and Roll20 at this point. I want to play a wizard named Desarkess who has a mysterious criminal background that he isn't too forthcoming to divulge. He gave up his criminal ways after somebody very close to him was killed for a crime Desarkess committed. Desarkess is a gnome. He dresses in a black robe with a black hood and black gloves similar to Anakin Skywalker after turning to the dark side. He likes to remain somewhat mysterious but is very confident. Think of the character Billy from the Predator and that's Desarkess' personality. I very much enjoy interacting with other players, being challenged, and doing things I am unable to do in real liflike: exploring a dungeon, fighting vampires or dragons, talking to an elf, etc. Let me know if I can join. I look forward to hearing from you.
