Mouse wheel zoom

When moving around the screen, using the mouse wheel as another method to scroll up/down isn't very intuitive or helpful, and using the current zoom tools is very clunky. Is it possible to make the mouse wheel work like it does in Google Maps, so that it zooms in/out where the mouse is pointing? That would make map/screen navigation a lot easier. Thanks for considering.

Holding down alt while using the mouse wheel will cause the map to get bigger/smaller. 

Thanks, didn't know that ... but I'd still prefer standard mouse wheel zoom as default since it's more natural and intuitive.
