The squire

Denton Hinks has worked a long time at his craft, studying ancient text, eating right, exercising daily and using swords and shields.  It is now time for the next step, practical application of his skills, it is time to seek out a knight. Denton approaches Trelic and Xephy he drops to one knee before Trelic and puts his sword on the ground before him. " Here do I swear, By mouth and hand, Fealty of service to the Law and the people of Royce." "To speak and to be silent, to come and to go, To strike and to spare, to do and to let be, In matters as concern Royce, and the lawful commands of Sir Lightpoint." "In need or in plenty, in peace and in war, in living or dying, from this hour henceforth, until the walls shall crumble or Death takes me or the world ends." "So say I on my Honor and my life."

Trelic looks on at Denton one eyebrow raised. "Did I send out applications for squires? I don't remember doing that." He goes over and picks Denton off the ground "You can't just start swearing your life to anyone, they have to accept you first, and unfortunately... or fortunately for you I am not willing to do so. Fortunately I say, because you have a chance to find another knight who can properly train you until you are able to reach knighthood yourself." Sighing, Trelic continues on. "I can barely keep myself alive as a champion of Malak'n, and I have no desire to use you as fodder, or to get both of us killed while trying to save you from the inevitable rookie mistake that would happen when you are thrown into fights that I can scarcely handle." Trelic pats Denton's shoulder "I admire your bravery and honor, but please don't throw your life away meaninglessly. There are plenty of other knights who can ease you into the life you seek, and from there you will be able to make a much bigger impact for the kingdom of Royce."

I have journeyed long to find you Sir Lightpoint, your family and the deeds of your family are legend and I wish to be a small part of that, I will be a good squire sir.
