There will be a special session of Maladon on Tuesday the 23rd of August at 6.00 pm UTC+1. This session will involve no specific missions, though there will be jobs on offer that will arise in game, because this session will encompass the Spring Festival dedicated to the Goddess Kine. Kine created several races of Elves and her tree is the Rowan and is the reason that Rowan-wood protects against evil magic and fey. She is one of the greatest enemies of Cernas and so is beloved in the Empire. The Spring Festival is traditionally a time of the thaw and of the throwing back of Winter. Mystery Plays are put on all over the Empire and Houses are decked with Evergreen plants. Parades occur through the streets; lead by women dressed in green and wearing the racks of a Great Hind (a kind of female deer that has antlers). It is also the Festival of Planting and involves a number of rituals. This session will map one day on the 45th of Quickern and the revelry and villainy of that night. The first 6 players to sign up will be the main players. The session will happen entirely in Haven and this is one of only two times of the year when commoners can get into the Upper City. Indeed, many noble houses hold street parties and feasts for the poor at this time; for an empty table on the Spring Festival is almost as bad an omen as the presence of snow or ice. It is also a time of skullduggery as the Noble Houses attempt to cause bad omens to lessen their rivals standings in the City and the Empire.
