Legend of the Five Rings LFG

Hello! My name is Jeffsmith, and I am an experienced roleplayer, and a semi experienced gm. Though I've only ever really delved into DND, i am super interested in giving the L5R a try. I have never played, and I am still reading the rulebook, but I am super enthusiastic! Due to my lack of experience with the system, I would rather play a game as apposed to running one, but if I can find enough interested parties I would still gladly learn the ropes from the lonely side of the screen. As far as times and dates go, we can sort that out when I know I have a group to play with.

Key point, which edition, which publisher?. I'm as fan, never ran it, but one day would like to. Would like to play as long as it doesn't devolve into "who knows more about Japanese culture than the other, correcting their 'Mistakes' " Saw games go that way, and loathe them.
4th Edition is the latest and arguably most balanced/rewarding version of L5R. And L5R isn't really about Japanese culture - though obviously it borrows from it thematically in addition to other Asian cultures (there are many differences such as women being allowed to be Samurai warriors).
Well, I really don't know the differences between any edition, but I know that the book I'm currently reading is the 4e rulebook. It looks like it was published by AEG. As for games that get to culture heavy, if I wind up GMing, I can garuntees I won't let people get "authentic" when it comes to the appropriate way to hold a teacup. That being said, more obvious dishonorable acts will still result in the normal penalties.
Most of the obvious cultural stuff is spelled out for people in the books (core and others) anyways.
I would be very interested in playing. I love the setting and generally play scorpion. But am open to playing any clan.

I Will get started on setting up a campaign. My Skype name is prepnot3, but if you would rather pm me here on roll20 that is of course OK too. I'll give you a link to the game then. Also, we can get started talking about times. I live in EST, which is like GMT -4 I believe? Let me know timezones and when you kids are free, please! And of course anyone else who wants to join me can let me know either here or on skype!
I'll do it.
Me an my girlfriend are interested in playing if possible (depending on the day). I've never played L5R (except the d20 Rokugan one somewhat), but I've been playing RPGs for awhile. My girlfriend is completely new to RPGs, but knows some stuff about Japanese culture.
Would I be able to get in on this campaign? I'm an experience player, but have no experience GMing.
Also, I've never played this setting, so I'll need some help.

OK! Hey all, just a quick update. I know I started this almost two weeks ago, but i should be trying to start by next week, maybe the week after. I will make sure I get in touch with all of you in the meantime! As far as schedule goes, I am thinking Thursday nights at 7pm until 10 or 11pm EST. If this doesn't work for enough people I can try to rearrange some stuff to make another day work. And I put my Skype up here, but I realize I am rarely ever on, so the best way to contact me is through pm. It looks like I have about seven people into this right now, and I will probably be cutting it off here in terms of player space. In conclusion: Thursday nights, I am sorry for the wait, I will talk to you all in the next day or two!

We'll see about Thursdays for me, Not the best time for me to do it, would prefer another time.. Anyhow, I'd like to play a Kakita Bushi of the Crane Clan possibly - if its campaign appropriate.
I would like to join in this one if there's space available plus I have GMed L5R if you need some assistance, just wondering what days and time will you be running?
I'm interested in an L5R campaign. I picked up 2nd edition a few years back; read through it but never got around to playing it. Recently acquired the new 4th edition core rules and am looking to play with others familiar with the setting and game mechanics.
I've been getting into l5r recently and I'd be interested in a game.
