Interest Check: Homebrew/Pathfinder Campaign (GMT-ish Timezones, Thursday evenings)

Hey guys. I'm currently putting together a campaign and there's 2 spots to be had (so far I'm planning to have 4 players in total). Gametime: Thursday evenings, something like 6-10pm my time, which is either GMT+1 (winter) or GMT+2 (summer). This is non negotiable, unfortunately. Since this is the only timeslot that worked for me and the two confirmed players I already have. Starting date depends a bit on an internet situation I have no control over, but which will resolve by the 5th of November at latest. (Remember, remember, the 5th of November). Let me try to give you all the relevant info in bullet point form so anyone not interested in this kind of game can stop reading in a timely fashing. :3 Several house rules (some skills are tweaked, removed, streamlined combat a bit) Low magic setting (as in, magic items are not a dime a dozen) Roughly 30/70 split for combat / non combat activities No evil alignments Homebrewed campaign Focused on roleplaying, not powergaming Mostly limited to core rules Age 20+ prefered (sorry kids, nothing personal ;)) I don't want to make this thing three pages long, so I'll refrain from going into details about all dem house rules, I'll put them all in the campaign forum and will provide them to anyone who's seriously interested in joining. Basically I've removed a bunch of things that make no sense in my world. There is no crafting, for example. I've also changed a few skills that I've never seen used in my campaigns so far and introduced a few I wanted to have, "Inquiry" for example, can be used to ask around for information when you're stuck on something, want to find someone who offers jobs or just need to gather information. The campaign takes place on the Ancient Isles, which look a little like this: http://postimg.org/image/botw5y03n/full/ When it comes to character generation, I place more value on the character, than the numbers. If you spend 95% of your time optimising stats and then slap a "I want money. ... Because.... MONEY" motivation on your guy, this is probably not the game you want to be in. On the other hand, I'll work your background into the campaign, if it lends itself to that. As far as the actual game is confirmed, there will be no right or wrong solution to most problems. I'll give you a situation, what you do with it is up to you. You can try to kill things, you can try to reason with things, you can try to yell at things, you can try putting on a feather boa, pouring a pot of honey on your head and dancing around in your underwear. All of these might provide different results. This also means I will not stop you from doing "dumb" things. If you want to break the magic orb, you can try to break it. I'm not promising it's not going to splode ya'll, though. For most quests, I'll probably also make it so that they can be failed in some way or another. Let's say you're tasked with protecting a village from the raiding band of Rathgnar Redhands and you decide to take a 10 day trip to the next big city to buy a +2 sword of awesome. Odds are the village will be razed when you come back. Time keeps flowing and things will happen. If the party takes actions, what happens changes. If the party does "nothing" in relation to some events, they will unfold as they will. Which may be good or bad. I'm not sure if this is going to be interesting to a lot of people, so if you need to know more, feel free to ask. Either post here, or send me a PM. If you're seriously interested in joining, I'd suggest to come up with an interesting character concept and showing that to me. I don't mind helping people put that into numbers, as I've modified the rules so it's my responsibility to make sure people know what goes and what does not. But the actual idea and character, that has to come from you. :3 If it turns out there's more interest than I expect, I might end up hosting a one shot for the interested people so you can see how I run things and I can see how you want to play.
Fishy said: If you want to break the magic orb, you can try to break it. I'm not promising it's not going to splode ya'll, though. Can i play half-orge? On serious note tho, i wonder about houserules (specifically pantheon, as i like to play divine casters)

Only if you name him Tuddagub. As far as deities go, I am probably even okay with people making up their own gods. If it seems somewhat reasonable I'll assign domains and a favored weapon to it and we're good. What I'm not going to allow is people picking the two most OP domains, get scimitar or falchion as a favored weapon and then be like "What? Why would my god need a name?". (Yes, this has happened before)

I might give it a go, planning on rolling a wizard. -Simple concept- Occupation: Librarian Hobbies: Reading Books Obsession: Learning Magic Goal: Rediscover lost Magics of the past. Current Situation: Bored out of his mind after he had read all the books in the library he worked at. Want to read more interesting books. Thinking about migrating to a bigger city with a bigger library. -Personality- - Prefers to mind his own business - Willing to work with others to achieve a common goal - Enjoys the company of other practitioners of magic (Divine or Arcane) - Hates physical labor - Likes learning new things - Eager to expand his spell-book/s - Loath animal cruelty - Puddings, because, why not?

Thanks to everyone who's shown interest so far, especially the people that put a lot of effort into the PMs they sent me. :3 Don't hesitate to ping me with questions you might have, I don't mind spending the extra time to make sure both sides are on the same page.
One player's not able to make it on Thursdays after all, so there's another spot available. :3
Since this seems to be incredibly interesting, I want to ask if you would accept a player for a limited time. As in, I am going to have to be absent for a good period of time after a month and so I will be unable to attend afterwards, though I would gladly spend my current time playing this. If such a temporary player is not acceptable, I understand that a longer commitment is required, and I wish you luck with the game.
