Issue selecting monster tokens---repeatable problem

I ran into a problem last night in a game which caused me to not be able to select tokens. Whenever I revealed a new area of the map my ability to select tokens stopped working. Fog of war was used on each map in which I had this problem.  The work around that I used was to log out of the game and to rejoin the game. As soon as I did this i could select the tokens once again. This happened 6 times last night during the game. It is not a show-stopper, but it is annoying. Any ideas what I could do to prevent this?

Are you indicating that after using the  toolbox to select the fog of war tool and remove the chosen fog area then clicking on the select and pan tool, it does not let you select your tokens? Did you check to be sure you are on the correct layer?
yes I was using the toolbox to select the fog of war tool to remove the chosen fog area. I was not using the pan tool, rather using the pointer tool to reveal a box shaped area. i am not sure what layer I was on (Token or GM), however, I do not think that I went to the dynamic lighting layer before I removed the fog.
After using the Reveal tool, you would need to switch back to the Select tool in order to select Tokens again.
ok i will try that

I'm often forgetting to switch back to the Select tool, too. Usually I spot it when a yellow line appears on the map. ;) My players are now used to me narrating my errors to explain slight delays while I get the correct tool or layer.
The advanced keyboard shortcut, s is your friend.
Thanks for the tips
