I have been struck with inspiration! And it's weird!

I'm starting a new topic for these because it has a 50/50 chance of actually being in our game! So I wave been trying to make a armor less, spear wielding, spell sword that is fun to play. I think I can actually manage that with a monk/blood hunter multiclass using profane soul. It would probably take a few levels to full come on line and probably still would be a little weak, but I think it sounds really fun and I thought I would throw it out there. Also you guys can totally post fun builds you're thinking about here too, I like to talk about the more out there builds!

Or an undying warlock shadow monk also sounds kind of fun. Like a zombie ninja .-. That might actually have a better fit for what I want, it wont have homebrew, but would just be MAD as hell :I
Hmm, unarmored and spear? Monk would be my best guess for that. I like the zombie ninja idea... he doesn't talk much, but his blades say plenty. I once had a necromancer (wizard) who found a famous pirate's magical treasure, so his favored weapon was a magic harpoon. He also cut off half of his leg so that he could use the magical wooden peg leg. I figured he could preserve the leg for later levels if he ever wanted to give up the peg leg... then he'd half a zombie leg or something. I haven't actually used this guy in play, but my favorite crazy build for 5e so far is "Sir Rufus Krook Stapleford III". He's a Ranger Tinker Gnome. His primary weapon is a Blunderbuss which he created and named "Betty". He believes that he's an English gentleman hunter (great white hunter trope) who got lost from his party in the deep heart of Africa while on a big game hunt. He thinks that he's wandered into some strange and undiscovered land full of strange animals and people. He's content to explore and hunt big game, but resolves to find his way back to Mother England to tell his countrymen about his discovery.
Haha thats great! I have a gnome ranger beastmaster that I have been sitting on. Gnomes in general are just great lol
My idea has evolved into a barbarian warlock build. Going undying still, but it would almost be like a "hit me I dare you" barb with armor of agathis and rage. The only thing I cant figure out is when you would rage because you lose all casting. It would take like a feat that let you cast non concentration spells and cantrips while raging.
Sounds like a "Rage Mage"... http://www.middlefingerofvecna.com/2015/05/rage-ma... http://hackslashmaster.blogspot.com/2015/06/on-5th...
I figured this was the best spot to put this :) I was reading something about an Abjurer build and decided to see what one looked like. I rolled it up as 6th level Wizard because it unlocks some of the good class features and gives a good sense of where this character is heading... And I 'cheated' by making him a deep gnome to take advantage of the +2 INT so I could max it out even with point buy :) This guy is still a bit squishy... AC 11 (without Mage Armor/Shield/Blade Ward) and only 28 HP, but once he casts an abjuration spell he can add 16 temp HP... still trailing martial classes but he can absorb a blow for someone else as a reaction. I threw a few offensive spells in to make sure he can actually deal some damage, but he's mainly focussed on battlefield control, so even non-abjuration spells are geared towards that... Poison Spray is 1d12, so 2d12 at this level - holy shit. Sure, there's a CON save for it, but that's brutal - especially considering it's a cantrip! I basically see this guy as hiding behind one of the frontline fighters, absorbing a blow for them here or there, and generally playing support where they can - jump out and blast with fire bolt/poison spray, jump back behind to lessen chance of getting hit, rinse, repeat. Might be a bit tough to pull off well, but I can see it working... I also found a fairly good online character sheet via google drive that is shareable, so that's a win. If you have a better one let me know. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BygCKBw5m-48d2JQd...
