Second session followup!

I enjoyed our second session quite a bit, and was sad when I had to call it. I hope you guys felt the same way! Again, in this post, please post stuff you thought worked, things that could have gone better, stuff you'd like to see in the campaign or directions you'd like to take, your favorite moments -- anything that will help me recall the session as well as plan new ones! Regarding next session, I'm assuming we want to do next Saturday at the same time. I don't have work next week, so if you guys wanted to start earlier or go a bit longer, I'd be game. Let me know any scheduling issues or preferences here as well!

My only issue is not knowing why Google hangouts is being a butt with me and making me all robotic since I have pretty strong, reliable internet. Maybe we can look into an alternative so I don't break people's ears with my robot voice?  Other than that, I am having a blast and was sad when it had to end today!  For the moment, Sigrun is learning that she still has a bit of a temper and is trying to be more open and understanding with people (bad guys). She did grow up around a forge and a tavern, so old habits die hard and that kick in the balls was a throw back to her bar wench days. Haha. EDIT: I am good with scheduling a session for next Saturday! Time is free/open, so whatever works for everyone. :D
Had a wonderful time and was also sad when it ended, just an fyi I'm always up to go a little longer :) Honorable mentions * Zaradur's spectacular leap into the bandit * Helm successfully rescuing his handaxe then a shout of a mad man to the bandit that nearly shitted himself * The anticlimactic bar fight -sad face- * The group giving Carp weapons/equipment so one day he can go to an adventure (Zaradur's javelin is best gift *cough *cough) * Zaradur "tipping" Pip * Sigrun with a good moral trying to magically heal the bandit up *  Nearis calming down the "cute" one eye creature * Sigrun trying to use diplomacy right after Helm missed throwing a javelin/handaxe * Zaradur....oh wait I mean Sigrun finding the secret entrance..... * Zaradurs first experience of this thing called flirting  * Raynor slicing and dicing like a pro and seems to be becoming the leader of the group! :D if I'm not mistaken * Raynor failing miserably  in negotiating for a better pay then receiving a pitty pay This is all I can remember, if anyone has anymore then feel free to add on it.  I feel like my character is becoming the little goofy, doesn't know any better barbarian and I'm enjoying it so far! Zaradur is starting to get more protective toward Sigrun because of her caring nature, reminds him of his real mother. Zaradur is starting to think that Raynor is the leader of the group and respects him for showing initiative. Zaradur is liking Helm's manliness and brutality, he can see them being side by side in the front lines.  We can always try skype, I've used it before in my last group.
Had a great time as well. Wouldn't have minded a longer session either :) Would just like to add a small correction to "Naeris calming down one-eyed creature": More like Naeris stopping her rabid, bloodthirsty friends from murdering a poor, innocent cave dweller that just wanted tasty eats. And also probably saved Zaradur's bacon in the process xD That thing was remarkably okay with the whole being mauled with a great axe and stabbed with swords. I do have just one, mild concern I'd like to just mention. We're a party of 6, a fairly big group. That does require a little extra effort to make sure everyone's on the same page, all getting to contribute to the story and action and that no one gets left behind or something. There were a couple times where it felt like things were going maybe a bit fast and it was a little hard to keep up with everything. But then I was also pretty badly distracted by my noisy neighbor at one point. Hope his crap music didn't bleed into the microphone to y'all <.<' Also, Naeris was going to try and sell her old leather armor back at the shop. I was wondering if I could just assume she did and add some 10 or 8 gold for it to her purse?
Zaradur just enjoys slaying monsters and evil beings, that "basement dweller" spooked Zaradur and even hissed at him, you can't blame him. :p hahaha It was Naeris charm that made the dweller forget all about it. Hehe Something I like to do is get other PCs opinion or just have a conversation with them so they can be more involved in the world, I'll try to do that more next game. Sorry if it seemed like I was taking the spotlight, I'll try to slow it down and gove other people a chance to say or do something. I did notice only a few people got involved in the votes we had....
Naeris has charm? xD I mean, she's pretty charismatic but going so far as to call her charming per se... <w<; Hm, yeah. I think we could all do a little better to make sure everyone's involved :) I mean, I could probably do better to try and speak up a little more myself :P
Actually, in my experience, y'all are a pretty vocal group. It's true that some talk more than others -- Raynor and Sigrun are emerging as pretty much the party leaders -- but both Patrick and Elias contribute and characterize pretty often as well. Aviana, you tend to be a little on the quiet side, but there's nothing wrong with that if that's what you're comfortable with. And Matheus was quiet, but it was his first session! So I think y'all are tracking just fine along the "typical group" curve; people are still working their way into character and figuring out how they want the group to act.  I actually liked the way combat with the eye-monster went. It makes sense  that the axe-happy half-orc would swing first and talk later against such an obviously monstrous creature. It makes sense that Naeris would use her turn to try to calm her comrades down and communicate with the thing. I do have to double-check your alignments, though -- y'all have definitely been more of a "do what's necessary" group than a pure "good" group ("Feed you human corpses for information, Mr. Monster? Why, sure! Would you like ketchup with those dead bodies?!") -- but it's still very early, so I'm not planning on making any changes just yet. And of course, in keeping with my DM philosophy, I will never ever ever ever say "you can't do X because you're Neutral Good," but I will say "if you keep doing X you could end up changing to Chaotic Good." Actions inform alignment, not vice versa.

I totally wanted Sigrun to stick around the back to talk to Naeris, but that was when I forgot I was muted and no one could hear me, haha. But Sigrun does have plans on chatting with Naeris, so hopefully, that'll happen next session!

Yeah, I'm a quiet sort of person. The larger the group, the quieter I get. So, in larger groups I tend to prefer to keep to the background and sorta work behind the scenes more than get up there in the front. I did consider making a character where charisma wasn't such a big part of the build; for ease of roleplay. But I really wanted Eldritch Blast..... *sob* Why EB, WHY?!  And well, Warlock's best class anyways! ;P I just recall a couple times where it felt like things were moving ahead a little fast. Like when it was decided we barge into the bar through all the entrances, I think it was Mat and I that weren't really clear about which entrance we were actually at and ended up just sort of being washed along. While it was Mat's first session, I feel like we could maybe have done a little more to get him involved in the group. But as long as everyone's happy and having fun, it's all good. I just want to make sure that's the case. - Haha, well feeding the corpses to the eye-monster makes perfect sense to Naeris at least. For one, the monster was far more interesting than a bunch of thugs and second, with Zaradur, Helm and Raynor all being more of a kill first, ask later kind of guys, there'll be dead bodies either way and they'd have to be cleaned up sometime somehow. Might as well leave the monster to it. - Aww, only 7g for a barely used leather armor? Ah well, guess the bloody gash in it is kinda hard to argue against. xD - Zaradur doesn't trust monsters that mess with his head? Oh, dear... <w< - I look forward to Sigrun and Naeris' chat! :D It was a shame about the muted mic last session though.
I really liked playing with this group. I was a little quieter than I usually am because, as Chuck said, it was my first session and I wanted to see how everyone developed together. However, I think it fitted well in the party for my character to just be observant in the background and not talk much. I'll try to balance better next session. Can't wait for the next one :)
Truthfully, I kinda rushed the ambush scene at the Sleeping Giant because it was all just setup for the "barge in all the doors for just a surly dwarf bartender" joke. I didn't want to spend too much time on tactical setup for a cheap throwaway gag. :) But I take your point, Aviana, and rest assured that had positioning and such actually mattered to what was going to happen, everyone would have been very sure of where they were. Again, I want to stress: do what makes you comfortable! If you feel better being quietee, don't push yourself into an uncomfortable place. But rest assured that we're all friends here, and if/when you want to step up and seize the spotlight,  you can!
