Our Group We recently lost one player due to him getting a new job. As such, we are looking to recruit new players. Our group currently consists of four people. We are a lighthearted group and our humor tends towards obscene and crude, with very few subjects being considered too taboo for discussion. This can range from anything from heavily racist jokes (emphasis on jokes, none of us are actually prejudice) to discussing strapping explosives to the orphans. If you are easily offended or can't take a joke, this group isn't for you. Also, we are currently using Discord for our games. We play every week on Saturdays at 12:00 PM PST (GMT-7). Campaign The current campaign is based off Luigi's Mansion and has a heavy focus on Haunts and dealing with the spirits that infest the mansion. For those who don't know, Haunts are essentially what a GM uses in place of traps if he hates the party. They are essentially traps that perform an effect similar to a specific spell. They cannot be noticed before activation without magical means and can have rather severe effects on players. The fun part about them is that they reset themselves after a certain amount of time unless they are properly destroyed. To destroy them, you have to perform specific tasks, such as burning down a building or burying someone's remains in hallowed ground. The characters have to use various techniques, such as fortune telling, deep research, contextual clues, and seances to determine how to deal with each haunt. Although difficult, these haunts create much better role-playing scenarios for players. For example, a character may be possessed without the rest of the part noticing. That player may then have to attempt to perform some action harmful to the players without raising suspicion. Or it gives the chance for a spooky seance where players must be wary of dark forces that may try to take advantage of their vulnerable state. The campaign begins with each character receiving a letter that informs them that a relative has passed away and left them a mansion. After traveling across the ocean to their new mansion, they meet several other people who claim that the mansion belongs to them. When they arrive, they find a very different story being told. The GMing style of our group tends to be rather relaxed. A lot of our campaigns are semi-serious and often silly, but this campaign is expected to be a bit more serious that the others. We also tend to have quite a few homebrew rules to make the game better (at least we think so). What We're Looking For We are looking for one player. We ask that you meet these criteria. Be at least 16 years old. Speak fluent English. Be able to use Discord's voice chat. Be okay with dirty and obscene jokes. Be able to hold your temper and not be aggressive to other members of the group. Know the system OR be capable of learning a new system. Be capable of making it to nearly all weekly games. Remember, we are willing to teach players that are new to the system or even to tabletops in general. We just ask that you are competent and dedicated enough to learn the new systems. If you would like to join, please send me a private message. You do not need to answer all of these questions in the message because we will need to have an interview prior to your acceptance into the group. It's not too serious, it just tends to help vet the applicants.
