LFG+DM for a campaign of 3.5 d&d tailored to the "Abhorsen" series of books by Garth Nix

While looking through the list of homebrew classes on dandwiki.com, I noticed a class called Abhorsen and would be EXTREMELY happy if I could find a GM and players who share my love for the series or just people interested in playing :3 I'm willing to collaborate with the DM about the realm/setting or even type out a fairly detailed setting myself if need be. I don't think I'd make a very good DM otherwise I'd try and make my own campaign.... And I'd like to play the Abhorsen :U Here are some things that MUST be incorperated into the campaign: The kingdom is divided in half by a very large coast-to-coast wall. on one side, magic is abundant with a large portion of it's magic emitating from things called Charter-stones. Charter-stones being the most common form of magic performed by drawing/thinking symbols while uttering words and using hand gestures or whisles. Free magic is the less common magic, generally only used by necromancers; free magic leaves a taste and scent of metal wherever its used. In this world the undead and various undead abberations raised by necromancers are layed to rest by the Abhorsen, a longsword and bell weilding anti-necromancer. There is only ever 1 Abhorsen though there can be any number of Abhorsen's-in-waiting though it's limited to a single bloodline. Thus, clerics and other classes that may be fit to battle the undead may NOT take up the bells. High up in the mountains is a gigantic glacier where a large clan of seers lives ewho watch over this side of the wall and warns the royaly of any dangers that may threaten the kingdom when need be. I large river runs right down the middle of the kingdom that hooks east into a delta before the Wall. On the other side of the wall, magic gets harder and harder to use the farther south you go. At around 50 miles south of the wall, only very small tricks with light and shadows with a strong south blowing wind. Abhorsen's and necromancer's are able to to shed their bodies temporarily, their souls leaving their bodies behind to frost over as they traverse the realm of death. The realm of Death has 9 precincts and gates, each precinct and gate being differnt but the gates always involve water as a river flows in a long line from east to west. dead spirits who havent passed through all the way to the final 9th gate inhabit the realm of death. If anyone is interested, please comment. And as I said before, I'm willing to contruct the whole world if I have to for whoever decides to DM. :3
I've only ever read the first book, which I loved. How long is the series? I might just pick it up at the game fair and read it and GM this next year (fully booked this year).
That would be amazing, thanks so much for replying. :) The series is 3 books long and if I remember right, there should be a book of short stories as well. I don't remember the name of the last but the names of the first 3 in order are Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen.
Im interested in playing! Let me know! Skype: Lkorose Adriankano@gmail.com
Wow, Definitely interested in this. I'd love to DM it, I've read all three books. It would take from a week to two months to set up a world (not just places, but "spells" (which would actually just be a list of Charter marks that you could combine for effects and your level in spellcasting classes [or feats, if you want a spellsword] would teach you more charter marks and dictate how powerful a charter mark you could cast), as well as other things, that are special to this world/setting. I've been playing for about 5 years (DMing for 2-3) so yeah, will definitely be looking into this. I was looking to set something up for this with my IRL group, but didn't work out due to not everyone wanting to so this is a really great opportunity for me ^.^ E-mail: ricardo.beuchat@hotmail.com (this is my preferred method of communication, but I'll be tuned into this thread and PMs as well)
